If It's Going to be, It's Going to be Minis

I don't really have a sweet tooth anymore these days. Maybe it was because when I was a kid, I ate sugary things like they were going out of style. When I was a kid, I'd eat anything sweet I could. Brownies, 3Musketeers, peanut butter cups, Fudgsicles, vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup poured over it. Even a bit into my navy days, I used to love to buy boxes of mini Nutter Butter cookies and could almost eat the entire box of them. Little Debbie Nutty Bars were another nemesis that got constantly devoured. Oh, and let's not forget those Wonder Hostess pies. Blueberry and cherry were my favorite, with blueberry taking first fiddle. Speaking of pies, I loved cheesecake. And I was a sucker for a good peach cobbler too. And then there was gooey butter cake, which was another favorite of mine. Breakfast favorites included French toast coated with powdered sugar. It was all good eats. But again, I think I overdid it and then something just changed, and now I really don't fancy much sweet at all. I do like Reese's peanut butter cups, though, and every once in a blue moon I get a hankering for some, and 9 times out of 10 if it is something sweet I am craving, I reach for those. But not the regular sized cups. I actually prefer the miniature ones. For whatever reason, it just seems like it's a better, more perfect balance of peanut butter and chocolate in the mini ones than the larger ones. It's still rare I have them, but I have to admit when I do finally get a craving, I always eat way more of them than I probably should. But sometimes certain pains are worth it, you know.

Did you enjoy them, is the question? Of course, if you step on the scale and it breaks, might be time to forego something. lol

I recall growing up that it seemed that my mom made some type of dessert for dinner very often. I didn't carry that on as I became an adult. I do like a good pecan pie, or cheese cake. I tend to like a good dark chocolate candy bar. But I don't have these frequently.

Pecan pie has never been on my list. Just not my thing. But even having a cheesecake is rare for me these days. I just don't get the wow factor like I used to.

We don't do a lot of sweets here since my hubby is diabetic. I do keep a little chocolate in the refrigerator though for those times I need a little boost!

@porwest He has always had more of a sweet tooth than I did. His mom loved to bake and there were always cookies and cakes whenever you stopped by. Usually, if she knew you were coming, she would bake extra.

Being diabetic does pose "other" issues, for sure. I just don't have a sweet tooth, but there is usually something sweet in the house just in case.

I can't keep jelly beans or any type of gummy candy around or ice cream. I will devour it all.

Candy, even mini's are too attractive to me. Even if I have to unwrap them one at a time. Except for dark chocolate. Hubby and I ate one time made it a habit to eat one Dove dark chocolate promise each evening. I seem to recall that my cravings decreased when I was doing that.

My sweets craving has gotten worse as I've aged. It used to be that I was a nut for all things salty, but these days I seem to have an exceptionally active sweet tooth.

I would suspect many people, and even most people, don't lose their hankering like I have.

I’ve tried a peanut butter cup before but wasn’t a huge fan. I’m more of a pie, Danish, muffin, etc. person.

I have always liked Reese’s. The peanut butter and chocolate combination is something else! All forms of this product I could inhale all day long

I ate so much candy as a kid that now I'd rather have some cupcakes or pastries of some kind,
