Running Away While Running Away

There’s nothing like waking up and checking the weather, only to see that the place I ran away to is under a severe weather risk. So I had to run away from that while running away from the Derby madness!! That puts me in Virginia for the evening. On the way up, I discovered a new place I had never heard of before: Panther Creek State Park in Tennessee. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. If you look at that photo, that is hardly a “creek.” That’s Cherokee Lake, technically. It is created by the Cherokee Dam on the Holston River. I know something else, too: it’s gorgeous. How’s that for an overlook photo, huh????? It’s been a great day: I escaped the severe weather at home, escaped the severe weather at the place I escaped to, and discovered some beautiful scenery along the way!!!
