Who is your best friend?

This is a picture of my 5 year old niece, Annelyn, and my 9 year old nephew, Hudson. They are best friends. Annelyn insists Hudson will come live with her and her family some day. In this picture they are in their pajamas as they are about to go to bed tonight. You may notice that for a 4 year old age gap they are pretty much the same size (Hudson weighs more, and is an inch and a half taller. Well, Annelyn is tall for her age, and Hudson being born with fetal alcohol syndrome has left him small for his age (remember all the kids are adopted). You will find no bigger defender of this boy than his sisters Amyra (13) and Annelyn. And one thing I have come to realize this weekend is that Annelyn is whip smart. While Amyra is the caregiver sweetheart, Annelyn will make you quake in your boots if you mess with her brother. Honestly, as Hudson becomes an adult I fully see Amyra handling his physical care like giving him food (he’s partly fed through his stomach), and Annelyn handling any of his financial matters, and anything that requires paperwork or talking to people on his behalf. I know Hudson will be in good hands for decades to come. After all, isn’t that what you do for your best friend?

Oh... What a lovely smile these kids are donning. They look so beautiful. I loved the hair style of Annelyn. It's so nice to see them being best friends at such an early age.
As for me, I too have some best friends. However, like me, all of them are busy with their respective works. Responsibilities keep them busy. But we make it a point to meet as and when possible.

I am so glad to know that Hudson will be in good hands. My brother was my best friend when we were young. I have been there for him all the time. Even after we both got married, he called me to ask my advice before taking important decisions. (Until the day he met the wrong woman!

I guess Pretty is my best friend now... She does everything for me that I can't do for myself anymore.

Can't say that I have one. I have a work BFF but we mostly just talk about work though real life does creep in sometimes. The one person I will tell everything to is my ex. I don't speak to him regularly enough to call him my best friend. He knows me the best though.
