The special education co op has sent out our learning modules for next year. Some of them are repeats for every year. Some are new.
I could go in to the office and use their computers, etc. but I prefer my own. They will pay us for the hourly equivalent of passing these classes on August 5. I already did one unit. I will do them as I feel like it, but probably will have them all done in a week.
The picture has nothing to do with the post. It is only Bruno appreciating my pillow.

People often do not know about all that goes on behind the scenes in education. Of course every state, and every district is different.

Legally they cannot require it and not pay us. Just like our in person in service times are paid, plus mileage.

Legally they cannot require them and not pay us. They used to have us clock in, or turn in written time sheets. I like this way better. Not every one can clock in from their homes. Because I have done transportation from my town I can get online and clock in if I need to.

@GardenGerty Very nice! Walmart used to have us watch modules from home "in our spare time". They got sued for doing that but they just paid us once and then went right back to assigning videos that we had to take tests on without paying us for our time right before I was fired.

@DaddyEvil I have worked for Walmart. We even had to clock out for our breaks, so they could prove we were getting them. I worked so long ago they did not have the video trainings.

Yes, Bruno is both huge and handsome. Some of the things we study are repeated every year. Other times it is new and up to date information about my field, so it is interesting. I am one who likes to know the how and why that make people who they are.

@LindaOHio I forgot to add Child Abuse and Neglect. Some are state mandated trainings and others are federal.

I love learning new things, so this is good. I have not washed the pillow so he may enjoy smelling the children that read on it. He is a very sociable cat.

@GardenGerty It's the same with me. I am always learning new things, doing various courses and workshop. I am a trainer and train educators and parents. Alongside I keep learning new things, that helps me professionally.
Bruno is definitely enjoying the smell of children.

I think they have to compensate us in some way to make it legal to ask for it outside of contracted hours.
