We are still not moved to the new property/house. Permits have been taking a very long time for each one. My son is at Camano Island in the Pugent Sound for a friend's wedding. Soon as he was half way there, the county called and said the permit for the septic is finally ready. Of course it is. We've waited five weeks and he said just watch when he leaves, they will call. Yep. He will pick it up Tuesday. He had to get this one before the water will give their permit and our new address. We have to use the parcel number in the meantime. Trenching for the water has to come down the hill from a top road and the transformer and electric has to be ran up the hill from the road. Septic dug, leach lines put in and the driveway built. My son has been removing a lot of the alder trees but more trees need removed and areas smoothed out. Once all that is done, we can finally get the house put on. It's already built and stored. It will be transported 300 miles in three pieces and set up. That will take another three weeks after the septic etc. is done. We might finally get moved some time in July. I'm ready to be out of this coastal town and more inland back into the forest. My daughter is hanging in there. She misses walking and driving. The doctor had to send the referral again for her outpatient PT. She's trying to do what she can at home. She has to continue to wear the special metal collar and will evaluate again July 8th. She has over 30 screws in her spine. I am playing catch up and will be back on later tonight to read more of how all of you are doing. Have a wonderful Thursday evening.

30 screws?? That sounds horrendous. You must all be fed up with the time it's taking to get your new home ready. Roll on July! Our son is coming out from Ireland at the end of July but can only stay two weeks. We have to take what we can get.

@JudyEv Two weeks with your son will go so fast. I wish my daughter could/would stay longer than 3 days when she finally does visit. (We get a visit ever 5 to 8 years.)

It was a very severe surgery. i would post an X-ray as part of a photo but think I'd get in trouble. It's been so long waiting for this property to be done. Thankfully, the landlords here are nice and letting us be here month-to-month while waiting. The lease was up last month. That is nice your son is coming. It is so hard when they are so far.

@noni1959 I know those permits take forever! It’s very frustrating. I am glad to read you are ok and that your daughter is mending, slowly but that was a huge surgery. Hopefully you will have some progress on the house soon! Take good care, Loretta.

It's all slowly coming together. Hopefully, it will be done soon. I'm glad your daughter is getting better, just not as quickly as she'd like.

Me too. She gets frustrated but she is still determined. They tried to change to allowing a softer collar at bed time but that turned out to be more painful.

@noni1959 I'm thinking the softer collar allows more weight to rest on her in different places than the collar she already has. I'm sorry that happened.

Thank you. Me too. We were hoping for a garden but with all the equipment that will be there, one can't go in for now.

Your poor daughter. I hope she has good meds to help her get through this. Camano Island is gorgeous with expensive places to live. I hope all the permits etc etc finally come through and you all get to settle down.

@noni1959 Camano Island is north of me, toward Skagit county. All the real estate up there now costs tons more than the average person can afford- Camano Island property most likely mainly toward a million for each.

My daughter has good meds but hadn't been taking them as much so she doesn't get addicted. Her doctor told her today to take those muscle relaxers at night so she will listen. Camano Island is about 3 1/2 hours from here. His friend lives there in a very nice house. My son's room over looks the water. He really needed this break from work.
