What a Relief

Last year you may recall I was in a panic because of my Section 8 inspection failed. Not due to anything I did, but because the complex hadn’t fixed the door or the bathroom sink (who knows how much water they wasted due to a rotten pipe). They had given them 3 weeks to fix it, and well, you might remember my worry when they didn’t and they were going to make my weary body move someplace else (can’t afford another pet deposit either).
This year my portion passed…again. But the fire alarms did not. They work just fine, but the complex was notified they must all be hardwired now, and these aren’t. They have three weeks to fix it. I will be all over them for the next three weeks. I am not going through this again. Yeah, it’s a dump. But it’s a dump that gives me a roof over my head.
Pray for me, people! Incidentally, this inspector is very nice. She kept telling me to calm down, but I was feeling sick, not worried.

I hope they get the fire alarms up to code quickly.
When our house was being inspected for Section 8, I was having an allergic reaction so had used an epi-pen. That always makes my hands shake and I feel sick afterwards. The inspector here was a guy and he thought I was anxious about the house passing inspection. We explained I'd used an epi-pen so was just jittery but he kept telling me everything would be fine.

@AmbiePam Yes it is annoying since due to the damage of Hurricane Laura, my relatives had to move to a newer home after the inspector saw the damages in the neighborhood..

Someone needs to be all over them. It is shameful how they neglect you tenants.

Hope they get those fire alarms fixed so you can relax. I can imagine how stressful it must be when something has to be done and it's out of your control.
