He made me cry.

I have been in touch with Oscar, mt ex son in law, who is a doctor. He is a General Practitioner and we have always been in good terms although my daughter not always talks well of him. But in those situations I look at a plant because I like him a lot. I called him when I had the diverticulitis because I wanted to understand things that doctors don´t explain now. Lately, most doctors here are specialist in such a small part of the body that they can specialize in nails but not in fingers. When I fell, I did not dare call him because I had not paid him for his visit although I did give him the keys of my house. After I fell I messaged telling him that I wanted him to be my doctor and that I had had an urgency but I wanted him to charge me for his visits. Hecalled me and made me explain all that had happened with my fall and at the end of the conversation he told me that the money thing was absurd because we were family. I thought then about the lack of interest of my real family and he made me cry. I am so very blessed that these people that have "adopted" me make me feel I belong. My real granddaughter will "schedule" a visit to me some day, when she has time. Camila is taking me to buy the cane, my pills and my new bed. I´m hoping to have time to go to the butchers with her as the supermarket does not have some cuts. And as she doesn´t have so much time because everything is in a different part of town, we´ll leave the nose biopsy for another day. I know Oscar ever since he was the only well behaved child at Tania´s birthday´s partys. He is 60 mow and I still love him.

I am so glad he told you that you are "family", I know how important it is to have people who love you, especially when you are not well.

As we both know, he was more than my real family.

@LadyDuck I cannot accept in my heart that I preferred to call Leticia and stay on the floor all night than to call my brother who lives 2 houses away. As I was in shock after I fell, I would not have accepted him scolding me.

@marguicha - This is so true, too often the real family is not the best.

I'm glad Oscar is a good guy and wish he had time to spend with you without seeing you as your doctor.

That is asking too much. But I´m glad that there´s a doctor that can see me as a person.

I would have cried too at such kindness. Families can be quite strange/different/funny at times but we're stuck with them.

Oscar did not have to say that. It was more than enough that he treated me well. But this was beyond my wildest dreams, he divorced my daughter around 30 years ago. They married very young and the marriage did not last long.

@JudyEv I haven´t seen him much these years so I did not know he´d be so nice to me. I called him when I had diverticulitis because I was scared and depressed and he came to my home. I then gave him keys of my house but I did not dare call him when I fell because I had not paid him when he came.

Yes. My father was a doctor like those. Many times he received gifts instead of money. Now the world has changed and when this happens is more precious.
