Got to love my nearest neighbor. I admit I do not love him when he marches around with a tank of Round Up killer and cancer producer.
But his daughter. Oh my she is something else. I will be doing something outside- walking, hoeing a bit on the brick walk, or just hanging out. And just that quick and like an airhorn:
"Hey neighbor!!!! Your garden is looking nice." Much better than what she said to me one day. Just gives me and the hubby some chuckles at the end of the day.
I will pull up a photo just cause...... The tub in the photo used to live in my downstairs bathroom. Remodel happened and cast iron tub went into the garden.

That is a great way to repurpose your old cast iron tub!
I'm with you on the Round Up. I've been trying to get the hubby here to try some natural solutions. He has always said, yeah right. Then last week he came to me and said he found this recipe for making weed killer and lots of people said it would work. Yep, same thing!

I hate that Round Up stuff. So many people think it is just fine stuff...I do not want it here.
.
Those cast iron tubs weigh a ton. We remodeled a home and changed one out, it was a lot of work to do. It's good that yours found a new home in your yard

@MarieCoyle I felt sorry for the worker guys. They were suddenly faced with a heavy tub and couldn't just leave it where it was. Ouch.

We remodeled an older home and put a huge cast iron claw footed ornate tub in an upstairs bathroom. It had to be lifted through the window with a crane thing, and the floor had to have an extra support put in. Costly! That was years ago...the house is still there, but I have no idea who lives in it now. I can see why no one wants to attempt to move those things!

Do those rose bushes live in the tub all year? I'd think the roots would freeze during the winter.
Some neighbors are fun and some can be irritating... Sometimes both kinds are the same person.

@DaddyEvil It's a wonky photo. Those are snapdragons that surprised me and came back from last year. One is deep velvety red and the other more pink.

I'm trying to get our landscaper to use something other than Roundup. He said he would look for a safer option.

@sallypup Yes, I have a little chipmunk that lives in the flower bed. I don't want him hurt.

@wolfgirl569 The guys who remodeled the downstairs bathroom thought they would just take a saw to the tub and toss it in the dump. They got down to it and found out nope. The tub was an antique and was not going to just be sawn through. The guys were not delighted but they managed to haul it out and to the garden.
