Another Long Weekend

I had an abrupt end to my working day today.
The hydro electric power cut out just before 3:30 this afternoon. It came back on right away and then repeated that.
My work laptop went out of course and then as it happened twice, I let it sit for a moment before hitting the power button to fire it back up again. I had an update that I paused to do until I finished work. Of course that took precedence once I got the power back on again and a wifi conntection.
I texted my manager around 3:45 that the laptop was restarting, she suggested that my day was almost over-at 4pm, anyways. I agreed with her and told her to have a good weekend.
I took a personal day tomorrow.
My husband is helping out at his former workplace, its been a few years since he retired, but was asked if he could come to work for their inventory. I am going with him in the morning to our son's place. We'll each take a vehicle. We will each drive to the playgroup for 9:30 and then afterward he will go home to get changed so that he can go to 'work' and I will take the girls downtown.
Our son will meet me downtown. He booked the girls into the salon for summer hair cuts.
Between the construction downtown, and the one way streets, and managing the girls from where ever I find a parking spot to the salon should be 'interesting' unless I can see our son before I leave the car. I really really hope that I can see our son.
They are still at the age, where it is easier for everyone involved if there are 2 adults for some things. Willow needs someone's hand to hold as her hair is cut, while Harper, who is only getting a very slight trim, is happy to sit up in the stylist's chair all by herself if she can see you in the mirror.
Afterwards my son offered to take us all out for lunch. That will be alot of fun. The schools are still in for a few months, so it shouldn't be too busy.
I am feeling the awww of relaxation for this long weekend, even though tomorrow I will be hoping busy.

A long weekend is a good weekend.
I have a long weekend every week.
From Wednesday night until Tuesday morning.
It's a great weekend.
Enough about me
Shame about the power cut
But good that you got finished early
It's good that your son is taking you all out for lunch.
Hope the girls like their haircuts.

@Ineeddentures Oh yes, I do that.
I always carry some little candies in my purse and whisper into her ear that she can have some when she is a good girl at the salon. And of course this is such a fancy, upscale salon, even I feel uncomfortable there.

It won't be the end of the world if she does.
Can you not offer her a bribe not to cry lol
That's what I would do

@Juliaacv You could always promise a special treat afterwards, bribery, but it may just work.

@snowy22315 I did bribe them both, and it worked. They did well, no tears, just a little nervous fidgeting.

I think so too.
I'm glad that my hubs will work for a few hours, he wants to catch up with his former co-workers, and I get to spend time with Jonathon and the girls.
Hopefully the girls behave themselves at the salon, Harper is usually pretty good, but Willow doesn't like to go.

I will be holding my breath until we finish at the salon.
Willow doesn't like her hair to be brushed, let alone washed and cut.
But I will whisper a reminder in her ear that I have the candies that she likes in my purse and she can have some if she doesn't cry or fuss.
It is a very upscale and fancy salon, I wish that they would take them to a quieter place.
Lunch will be fun and the rest of the day will be also.

Yes, it was easier with him.
He arrived just a few minutes before I did, and he parked in the angle street parking, and saved me a space. He put his credit card in to pay for 2 hours of parking for us both. Which was nice.
The girls did well, no tears, just awkward fidgeting and both got quite quiet.

@DaddyEvil They have more spunk and energy then they are fun.
And this ole Nanny is short on so much spunk and energy some days.

@JudyEv I was so proud of her, she got really quiet while Harper had her hair cut and she just sat on my lap and watched her Sissy sitting still and the hair being clipped and falling to the floor. She held my hand tight during her cut. She got a bob cut, a little shorter in the back then in the front. She looks adorable with the new cut, so does Harper, she didn't have much taken off because she likes to wear pig tails and she can still wear them.

Yes, the salon is downtown, and it is an upscale place, and even I, as an adult, feel a bit intimidated going through the doors, I know that Willow feels it also. Harper actually likes it though.
I will whisper into Willow's ear that I have her favorite candies in my purse and promise her some if she can be a big girl and not cry. She usually asks me to stand beside her and hold her hand, and the hair dresser understand that, and she is good with her. We switch hands when she has to cut on that side.
Lunch out together will be fun.

Oh thanks.
I felt really bad when my laptop crapped out 35 minutes before my shift ended, I don't like not finishing the job.
Klaudia sent me a picture of the bob cut that she'd like for Willow, and teased me nothing short like the last time me and our son took the girls together. Of course she was out of the country then, and silly him, sent her a photo right after the cut, instead of letting it grow in just a wee bit.
I'm happy that my hubby is going to work tomorrow and on Saturday. He likes 'helping out' and that is exactly what he is doing as his former workplace is struggling because after he retired a couple of years later another oldie finished as well. Some small workplaces work better with mature, older workers, and this was one of them. He will go in tomorrow with coffees for everyone all around, and they will chat and catch up and then get really busy doing their work.
And me, Jonathon, Willow and Harper will be busy enjoying lunch out by then. The girls had Daddy facetime me today to make sure that I was coming tomorrow. They were so excited.

Hope your day is going well and that you found a good parking spot, the girls got their haircuts and you had a nice lunch with them and your son.
Even though your day sounds like fun I can totally relate to you being tired once it's done.

Our son got there ahead of me, and he took a parking spot out front and kind of saved the one beside it for me. He paid for the parking on both, you have to use a credit card for the street parking or the lots here.
The girls both did well at the hair dresser. I went back to their place after we finished lunch. They fell asleep on the way home, and we laid them on the couch. I let them sleep for a while but then picked up Harper and held her while she slept to try to wake her so that she'll sleep tonight. It will not be much longer that I can physically hold her as she sleeps, she is getting so big. Waking her was easy, I whispered into her ear, do you want chocolate Harper, and her eyes opened, she stretched and jumped up. I had a kinder egg in the fridge for each of them.
