I was just remembering something from many years ago...although I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday. We were visiting Dale's family in Arkansas and his mother said to me, "You know, you look just like that woman who works at my bank in Bald Knob. We'll go by there tomorrow." I politely made up some excuse to not go with her. I didn't want to see some woman ugly as soap that I looked just like. I never did see her. When I was young, I would say I was younger than I was. Gradually I started saying I was older, so people would say, "My goodness, you sure don't look 98!" In case you're wondering, I'm not close to 98. Well, maybe hollerin' distance.

Yes, I have a cousin who looks enough like me that we used to trade places and see how long it took mom to realize we'd switched. A few times, she never did figure it out. (Usually, my cousin would do something completely off the wall and mom would twig that it was him and not me... Then she'd scold both of us for teasing her like that.) There is also some guy who used to live in another town close to us that looked just like me, according to a lot of people in my city. I've never seen him but people I didn't know would start talking to me in a grocery store or Walmart, calling me his name... Some wouldn't believe I wasn't him until/unless I showed my driver's license.

@1creekgirl I have no idea but with my family, anything is possible. One woman here in Aurora was working in a gas station that I went to once in a while. I stopped with Pretty to put gas in the car and Pretty went in to find some kind of candy she wanted. When I got inside, Pretty put the candy on the counter and I pulled it over and asked the woman to ring it up, too. She looked at me strangely and asked where I'd found her at... I said Pretty was my daughter. The next time I was in that store, the woman started yelling that I didn't have a daughter and should be ashamed about lying to her. I told her Pretty wasn't with me that day because she was with her mom, otherwise she would have been... The woman would NOT believe a thing I said!

I like the way that you think, pose to be younger but then switch it in later years. I may try that myself. I am sure that the lady at the bank was a beautiful lady just like yourself.

Aw, thanks. But my MIL was strange, not a very nice person. Although I don't think she was being mean.

@1creekgirl My MiL was very nice, my Mom was more "Grumpy" she loved to criticize everything and everyone.

You are certainly not ugly. People say I look a lot younger than I am. I suppose that's good.

A lot of people say I look like a country music star, and I don’t find it a compliment. I would rather have just them held their tongue. My sister actually met the woman, taught her step kids, and assured me in person she’s lovely. She’s quite a bit overweight, and I feel like they’re telling me I’m big.

I can't say that I've been mistaken for someone else or that anyone looks like me. But, it's pretty funny that my dog groomer looks quite like my middle daughter and they're about the same age. Makes me wonder

When I went to the hospital for my colonoscopy a few weeks ago, a nurse told my great-aunt that she looked like someone who worked at a bank. I look young so most people don't believe that I'm 45.

Yeah, I'd prefer not to be compared to ugly people either. I already know. I have mirrors in the house of course and get daily reminders. lol

I would like to meet someone who actually looks like me. Then I can actually know if I am pretty or not. I have met people who go on praising how pretty and graceful I am. And then there are those who are very cold and think that I am too unconventional in my looks. I am pretty confused
