The cane and I.

Good night, friends. I have learned to walk with the cane but clearly it bothers me a lot when I try to cook. And it is because I need 2 hands to cook and the cane not only uses one arm and hand but my legs are not as firm when I try to leave the cane elsewhere. On Wednesday, Martín, the therapist, will come. I will ask him when and if I will be able to leave it some time. I don´t want to depend on the cane for the rest of my life. But now it is late. Good night, friends.

Hope you can do some therapy, and you no longer have to rely on the cane soon.

It is weird to think about just how much it takes for the body to do certain things. We just automatically do them without thinking. Until there is an injury that is.

@marguicha ........I know how frustrating it can be. And then to have to depend on others too.

You will know when you can do without the cane because you are going to feel more comfortable walking.

As you walk more, your legs will get stronger and you'll feel more confident in leaving the cane by your bed or a chair while you're working around your house. I often leave my can by my chair in the living room and even go outside without it. You'll be able to do the same thing one of these days. Have a good night.

You might need to be patient but hopefully one day soon you won't be so reliant on the cane.

Give it time. It will take time to be rid of the cane.
