My Roxy is missing and I am worried

I introduced you all to Roxy a few months ago. Street dog. I used to feed her. Four days since she is not to be seen. Ever since I started feeding her, she filled out, and was looking quite pretty. She understood commands like sit, eat, stay, and so on. She was graying. But pretty as hell. She asked for belly rub the last time, and I spent quite sometime doing that. But it was getting late, and I do have to be at home. So, I left her. Never occurred to me that people would steal her. Nobody wants a street dog, right? I had a sheet washed to get her warmer bed from this October. And the worst part.....I bought dog food for her for the first time only to learn that she is missing. Three doubts. The owner or the neighbor of the shop where she used to sleep, who are vegetarians had her relocated. GRRR The other day she followed me to my aunt's old apartment, and she decided she wanted to meet up with me and so went in search of me there, and didn't know how to return. Dogs do find it difficult to return I am told. I have been to that end twice, but couldn't see her. And last...she might have met with some accident when she went to relieve herself early in the morning. My heart hurts at the thought. She was to some extent potty trained. But it might have been a rash driver who drove over her. Nobody to identify her, nobody to grieve over her...nobody to help her if she was still alive....damn worried and damn sad. I cleverly chose to feed street dogs so as to not have deeper attachments. But I find me inconsolable. Been crying. I hate crying, but I am. I am still not giving up on the hope that she will be around there tomorrow or the day after. Or even a week later, having found her way back. I will accept her all dirty and bitten by other dogs, and all that...please god let her return. This is so painful. The street vendors were all sympathetic to me. Please pray.

She is truly awesome. She truly loves me. Her eyes would light up when I would go there. Even if she would be asleep, and I passed by, she would get up. I miss her a lot.

Poor Roxy, I feel so sorry. I wonder if someone took her because she is a good dog and the person decided to adopt her. I hope she is fine and well treated.

@vandana7 - It would be nice to tell you if someone adopted and also to let her see the dog. I just hope that she is safe.

It's also possible that someone saw how good she was and looking nice since you started feeding her and adopted her into their family. I HOPE that is what happened... You helped her enough that she got a forever home with somebody who could take her in and love her.

I want to see her just once. I want to be sure she is safe. I just want to hug her once. Just once.

@vandana7 I hope she comes back to see you one more time, vanny... But if she runs away from any new owner, they might not like her doing that. Are there dog parks near you where people take their dogs for walks and to let them off their leash so they can run and play? I'd be haunting those types of places and see if I could spot her. Good luck!

I spent half a day searching for her in places I frequented with her. Nowhere to be seen. This is terrible feeling. I feel like leaving all street dogs alone. I am so scared.

@vandana7 That's the problem with loving a stray. You often don't know what happened to them when they disappear . Outside cats will do that. They go hide somewhere when it's time to die. I do hope someone adopted her.

I am a caregiver for a soon to be 91 year old parent. While he does not require too much, still he does have bronchitis, and dogs do shed. Right? And in any event, the apartment rules do not permit bringing up stray dogs. They have made it very clear to me a couple of times. So I could not adopt her. I also feared getting too attached. I feed ten dogs and thought well, even if a few die, others will be around. I don't feed regularly.......I mean, I feed non veg about three to four times per week completely 250 grams per day for 3 to 4 days. Rest of the days, others are given money to feed them rice and lentils and veggies. Unfortunately, I can only buy meat outside for them. This means, there are spices. I do cook chicken but Dad has a specific requirement and the condiments may be actually harmful to the dogs. So yeah, I buy meat for them. Most people feed stray dogs Parle G biscuits out here, which are high in sugar as well as refined wheat flour. I give my 10 dogs some meat. I selected dogs that had bones showing up. I fed them and made them look quite attractive. They are still wild dogs...meaning they bark at strangers walking into their territory...and chase cars and vehicles...but Roxy was different. You could almost say, she was a sophisticated creature. Her walk and behavior were distinct like some beauty doing ramp walk. I know she would not leave me. This is something else. I finally located a shop that would give me dog food. I bought some, and went to feed her the other day, hoping she would like the kibbles and wet food instead of spicy stuff. But she was not there and I have tried to look for her...four days gone...I still remember her asking for belly rub the other day and being very happy with it.

Omg Poor Roxy. Poor you. I can fully relate to the distress that this is causing you. Especially the bit about that last of the 3.doubts. I hope that she is safe and well and that you do see her again..She looks so cute and friendly. My thoughts are very much with you, and Roxy.
