The stair guys got here at 9:30a. They started right in with what sounds like three different saws. One guy said he thought that the carpet people who did the stairs previously must have put at least 50 staples on every stair of the sub flooring. So, with continual sawing, hammering , and loud metal equipment being thrown around it was LOUD. Even with ear plugs in place, and the door closed. For three people who enjoy peace and quiet it was a long nightmare.
That went on for nearly three hours, and then they took a long break. My grand son brought me a pancake from downstairs. The one older cat that shadows him came out of his room to follow him. When the guys came back and saw the cat on the stairs they freaked. Afraid the cat might get into the adhesive they'd be putting down next and get it on his paws. Not to fear cause Silver is his shadow. Back in the bedroom he went. They should have seen all five cats. They are gone. I do hope they come back at some point. They get so freaked out when strangers come around and with the added noise I am sure they were rather traumatized.
Well, it is 4:30p. and they are still here. At least it is quiet now with the occasional pounding. It will be the same vinyl as the floors upstairs are so that will be nice. All matches matchee.

I hope that the five cats that ran away come back soon. Good to know that the stairs are being worked on in your home.

4 ran off. I'm sure they will be back when the strangers are gone.

I must admit that it does sound like a bit of a traumatic experience for people who enjoy peace and quiet.
And a long experience at that.
Poor kitty,s

I hope they finish quickly and this is the end of clanging and banging around for years to come. Good luck!

Have they finished now or do they have to come back next day? Hopefully the cats will return when all is quiet again.

Remodeling and/or replacing flooring or other work in a home is never fun, nor quiet. But the end result will be very nice, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I guess I thought you folks were done with all the flooring mess. I'm glad things are moving along for you.
