There are still good people out there.

When I do my morning political reading, and when red light runners barely miss me, I become a grumpy old man and think that "the world is going to hell in a hand basket," whatever a hand basket is.
But after my post about the Coupon Lady, two straight "older people" with lots of items have let me in front of them at the grocery store. In both cases, I accepted their offers, and enjoyed some brief conversation with the kind people.
Do you ever think "the world is going to hell"? Can a kind act give a you a few minutes of relief?

An act of kindness really does renew your faith in humanity.

@TheHorse .........I doubt he will ever do any time. I hope Carroll keeps on gouging him for every penny she can. I also hope that, at some point, he is made to pay all he owes.

I feel we're already in hell. And, every so often we see a break in the clouds.

@TheHorse I think it's more a matter of perspective. I see both good and bad, but I am dealing with a lot more bad then good.

I meet kind people all the time and try to appreciate them while they're helping me and make sure they know I appreciate their kindness.

Personally I have become afraid of what is out there and mostly I keep inside and to myself

@TheHorse and with my luck I will experience it and get a panic attack and then just pass away well, I have to say that would get me to where I am longing to go these days so tired of everything,

@RasmaSandra The odds of that happening are low.

That really resonates. I honestly believe there are still so many kind and thoughtful people in the world—it’s just that they tend to move quietly, doing good in ways that don’t always make headlines or social feeds. They’re not always in the spotlight because they don’t seek it.
The ones who make the most noise often dominate what we see and hear each day, but that doesn’t mean they reflect the majority. Those everyday kindnesses—the people who hold the door, offer a smile, or let you go ahead in line—are reminders that goodness is all around us. It’s just a little more subtle, and sometimes, that makes it all the more meaningful.

I get some good treatment when I go to doctor's appointments, etc. Cousin #2 is very attentive, gets me a wheelchair if there is one, etc. Most people will hold doors open for us, etc.
