Half and Half

June 22, 2025 2:14pm CST
This post is called Half and Half. When I was a kid there was a cafe where we lived who served up meals and one option was to go half and half. Half the plate would be filled with a stew or something like that and the other half would be chips or potatoes. The plates were quite big. So I present to you my version of half and half which I have just eaten. Chips and a rice and chicken thing I had made previously, as in yesterday Phew. Yvonne is struggling with her half and half lol Half and half anyone

May I please have one - half and half - like that one? That's a good business idea for other diners here. I have never encountered a diner where they offer half and half here in the country.

@Ineeddentures But is food not so expensive there? How much would it cost in dollars?

@Jenaisle Cooking from scratch.at.hone is not expensive as eating out So that plate cost about £0.30 for rice £2 .00 for Chicken I had all the spices £050 for a pepper I had the greek yogurt An onion, £0.25 So most likely about £3.50 for both me and Yvonne but that did two nights The chips were £0.49 for a kg bag

@Ineeddentures way too much for the first thing. And that chicken/rice concoction looks sketchy. All of those chips would have me in the bathroom for a day.

I never understood why some cuisines serve rice and potatoes together in their entrees. That’s too much. I wouldn’t be able to finish your plate lol.

@Ineeddentures If you go to an Italian restaurant they won’t serve you a main dish with both potatoes and rice. But if you go to a Peruvian restaurant they do.

@lovebuglena I have never ever been to a Peruvian restaurant Lena Never even seen one before in any of the cities that I have lived in
22 Jun
Well It's simple Because an awful lot of people enjoy eating both on the same plate. Not many could eat everything on the plate Lena

So Yvonne may have her half and half twice. So would that make it a two by four, perhaps?

Yvonne ate 90% of her half and half So if she had it twice. It would be a 45+45 Then a 5 + 5 I think

Looks like a filing meal. Not sure I'd eat it with rice, but might be good with a side of chili for me!

Well I had to use up the Biryani I made last night but we didn't eat. I fancied some chips. So I did the half and half Trust me, there was enough chilli in the Biryani to blow ones head off.
