My 1 year old cat was spayed yesterday and I picked her up first thing this morning. She looked awful in the carrier when I took her. She didn't make a sound on the way back despite the fact that I had the top down and the music up. When she was let out of the carrier in here she just army crawled across the room and went under the couch which is where she spent most of the day.
The idea of treats or food didn't move her. Nothing did. Before literally flipping the couch I squirted the underside with the cat water bottle (used daily) and she got out of there. She still ran away from me every time I approached her though. She seems to be deeply offended about what has happened to her.
I've seen her eating wet food, using the litter box, and playing a bit with Charlie so she knows she is back at "home" and is safe. She still won't let me touch her though. Hey I don't blame her. Poor little princess.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Aw, poor baby. You’re on the “contents of the litter box” list right now.

Glad she's better. I wouldn't be squirting her though..that's mean. Would you want to be squirted when you feel like crap? Squirting just makes your cats mistrust you..although I have to admit I do threaten Nico with the squirt bottle at times. That usually makes him stop whatever he is doing.

@snowy22315 Yes. I don't ever do anything intentionally that would upset my cats. (except the vacuum sorry Charlie!)

It is what I had to do to get her out of the couch. It wasn't like I did it for amusement. She has been out and about since then and curled up and slept on the bed with me so she isn't traumatized.
I keep the squirt bottle next to the laptop here to use on Adso when he is trying to attack Charlie. They are all fine. Like I said I don't do it for fun but to diffuse situations.

I was getting worried, glad to hear she is on the mend. She's a cat...she may hold a grudge for a bit, but she will soon be your floofy princess! So glad she is better.

She is such a pretty floof. I am pretty sure she will eventually make peace with you.

Cats do hold grudges. Mine pouted for a few days when we put a flea collar on her this year. She eventually decided to be our friend again.

She'll get there. Just keep treating her like you normally do and she'll come around.

I can relate to what you are going through since a cat that my relatives recently adopted had to get spayed to control the pet population.

Hmm...she will just take some time to get back to normal. We all do take some time after such sickness or treatment. Happy that she tried to mingle with Charlie.
