Picturesque Scotland

Picturesque Scotland Tobermory, Isle of Mull It is a pretty place right enough but it's a place where you need deep pockets if you visit Personally I wouldn't go there again I don't like boats and you go by ferry So it's a no from me But it might be a yes from you. Not a lot to see when you do get off of the boat. And the next boat back is not for ages So spend your money

@ineeddentures Isn’t that where Edie McCredie and PC plum are to be found among with Miss Hoolie?

Aye Balamory. They use the houses on the waterfront for that. I have never watched it lol

@Ineeddentures I have memories of some of my kids watching it. I suppose it’s TV fame helps keep the prices high.

@xFiacre That could be true. When we went we took a picnic in a backpack Sat down to eat it at the waterfront Some local yokel told us we couldn't sit and eat food not bought on the island He got told ...

Clean and colourful, surely a pretty place. I also dislike riding a boat or a ferry.

@Ineeddentures I have the feeling you do not like Nicola Sturgeon.

@LadyDuck I never did Never trusted her I was correct. Her and her husband fairly loved the lifestyle of Royalty at the tax payers expense

In Scotland they are a long standing joke. A very costly service for the rest of Scotland to pay for. All because of Nicola Sturgeon being a complete Buffon

It looks lovely. We have a Tobermory here in Ontario. We've been several times.

@Ineeddentures Many many places here are named after places in your country and in England.

@Ineeddentures Why is it not welcoming? Also with the difficulty in going there, people might not want to go there as well

It is indeed a nice pretty place Raquel and the island is also very nice. But it wasn't the most welcoming place in our small but proud nation that I have ever been

@rakski Strange people Raquel People flock there in large numbers The ferry is hard to get on. And I have no idea why

One of the things I should like to do when retired is spend some times touring Scotland. I have only ever been to Kilmarnock and that was 50 years ago !

Omg Kilmarnock is ok But it's not somewhere I would instantly remember much about I've been there twice

I must admit, it looks like a place that would definitely be on my radar. Even if it's spendy, it might be worth it. I won't be in Scotland any time soon, though.

@Ineeddentures I just have no plans to travel abroad any time soon. We enjoy our summer camping and close-to-home trips.

Oh it's scenic It's lovely. But the ferry service is awful They should build a bridge from the mainland like they did at Skye

It is both of those things Very popular tourist place. It's about a 40 minute ferry trip from Oban on the mainland

Quaint is the correct word But that has made it a tourist hotspot Which isn't that positive unless the tourists spend money whilst they visit And most don't, lol, we didnt

Aye well the ferry company are not the best The boats are not reliable Often cancelled Usually late You could potentially get stranded on some almost remote island
