Cottage Cheese ...thumbs up or thumbs down?

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I'm not a big fan of cottage cheese yet I still buy it every now and then. This past week I added it to our grocery shopping and decided to have it for breakfast this morning. I added some diced peaches and figured that would give it a boost. Nope! The peaches didn't help and I realized once again that cottage cheese isn't my thing. Guess the pup will be enjoying what's left and I have to remind myself NOT to put it on my grocery list ever again. Do you like cottage cheese?

I love it! Skinnytaste uses it in many recipes to boost the protein content including scrambled eggs, egg bites, and no-boil bagels. You can hide it in other things instead of eating it on its own.

I've heard of using it in recipes rather than just eating it plain. My daughter has found some good ideas for using it with her Ninja Creami and making ice cream. So far she hasn't tried it but just the thought of it in ice cream turns me off. I know its a good boost for protein which is why I bought it. The doctor said I should eat more protein.

@Marilynda1225 check out the Skinnytaste web site. She has many high protein recipes and several include cottage cheese.

Yes, although I like yogurt better. Eat c cheese with two tablespoons of apple butter. I swear to you, you will love it.

I like yogurt and ricotta but cottage cheese really disappoints me. Apple butter? do I dare give it one more try?

I really like it, although I am going to have to go with the lower fat versions. It may be a texture thing for you.

Yes, I like large curd cottage cheese but Pretty prefers small curd so I don't get good cottage cheese very often. Pretty tries to save money by buying store brand and I don't like it... so it gets left in the fridge. When I go shopping, she wants to fight with me over buying large curd and keeps telling me I don't like it... She does stuff like that all the time... If she doesn't want/like something and I ask for it, she either tells me they didn't have it or that I don't eat that...

Yes I do, although I hardly ever buy it. Basically because if I do, I can just eat the whole tub with a spoon so it doesn't last five minutes! The most annoying thing, though, is that if anyone sees you eating cottage cheese they almost invariably ask if you are on a diet!!

Yes! it's always associated with a diet. You must really like it if you eat with right out of the tub. Wish I liked it that much

Not anymore. I loved it when I was a kid. Guess I grew out of it, or ate my lifetime quota by the time I was eight.

I don't like it by itself. But I have put it in strawberry smoothies. Once fully blended you can't tell

No ma'am...however I used to use it in my lasagna; and I didn't mind it at all. Our dogs always liked it.

It's a thumbs down for me. I have never liked cottage cheese. I will use it in a traditional meat lasagna, and sometimes in other dishes. But by itself? Nope. Can't do it.

Nope. I haven’t had it since I got control of my cooking/eating in 2020. It ruins everything from peaches to lasagna. Not that the latter matters too much, because I also don’t like lasagna, but cottage cheese lasagna is worse than than normal lasagna.

It's a big thumbs up from me. We use a lot of cottage cheese. Io d having strawberries with sugar on them, not much sugar, and then dipping them in cottage cheese

I hate cottage cheese but my mom and husband like it. My husband puts sugar in it and my mom uses fruit.

I have it once in a while. I have Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese more often.
