Have you ever stopped at a traffic light and you thought your car was moving. So you put your foot down harder on the brake.
Have you ever looked at something from a distance and drove by the object and it was not what you thought it was. That is so weird when that happens.
Did you say something to someone and they thought you said something different than what you said.

It used to be a prank to pull up beside someone at a light, then reverse your car and back up a little (worked better if you had a friend in another car doing it on the other side) and watch the person stomp the brake, afraid their car was rolling!

@jstory07 it would! Fortunately they would realize they were safe very quickly.

I never drive. But I have said something that every member of my family laughed. I wasn't aware that I said something out of the topic. Just a slip of the tongue.

It happens a lot and it can be unsettling. It is kind of fun for us to see things at a distance and then find out what they really are. on the other hand it is a very creepy sensation to feel like your car is rolling when it is the car next to you making you feel that way.

Oh, yes to all three. Even now I can look at my screen photo on my iPad (of the waters in the Florida Keys) and occasionally the picture will look like the water’s moving!

Once, Pretty and I were traveling somewhere and I was exhausted, so I pulled over to the shoulder of the road, put the emergency brake on and fell asleep. Pretty was already asleep buckled in the passenger seat in a sleeping bag. I don't know what she saw but suddenly, she started screaming that the car was rolling. I jerked awake, slamming my foot down on the brake! She scared the living crap out of me!
Of course, the car wasn't moving but I couldn't go back to sleep after she scared me like that so I started the car and drove on for a while before getting sleepy again...

@jstory07 But she only dreamed the car was moving and scared 10 years off my life by screaming like that.

When I still drive a car I always was too nervous to notice much except what was in front of me and remembering the rules of the road so glad I no longer drive, I once got caught in a downpour here in Florida and walking home I thought there was someone standing in the middle of the sidewalk, it was a mailbox

I also like it when I am on a fast moving train, looking out of the window, and it looks/feels like the train is stopped, and the scene is the thing moving.

In my dreams I can never get the car to stop regardless of how hard I put on the brake. I saw a bear in Dismal Swamp in VA. Hubby thought it was something on a stick. He finally saw what I saw. We used to laugh about the "bear on a stick".
