Source of funds...you and I of course...Ok not us...but many gullible folks who watch silly TV dramas as staple.
Think about it, if I am desperate for funds, would I use it up on flowers....garland and all that.
This is publicity stunt. Soon this guy will get so many followers that it will be difficult for law to stop him doing something illegal.
Ego trip? Perhaps. But more like a person with eye on a political career.
Would you be taken in by such a person? Would you not question, you are not working, from where do you get the money. Because we all have had to work for it, haven't we?

@LadyDuck The problem is these people do it so melodramatically that all funds people can spare for charity moves towards them rather than genuine folks like this organization. These folks though they come up with videos, are unable to connect with people for some reason.

The more people you send to his channel, the more money he rakes in and the less likely it is that he'll do anything to change the way he's doing things. Ignore him and his followers fall off by you leaving his videos. YOU are helping him do things you don't like!

I need to send a few rational folks questioning folks there...if you are not earning, and have your heart bent on charity, then how come you are wasting away the donated money on flowers and all that? A genuine person would not have that attitude...fingers in all pies. I think I would collect used clothes and give one of them to the guy. New ones? Are you kidding....that money can be used to feed one more person.
Here is a genuine person who deserves help but the help is moving away from her to such false folks.

@vandana7 No, you don't... You're what is known as a "hater" and video makers LOVE people like you viewing their videos because you're causing MORE drama by posting about him/his videos. Stop doing that and you deprive him of one more follower! I haven't opened a single one of the video links you've posted. I know how this stuff works and, apparently, you don't!

There are a lot of gullible people out there. Yes, we all have to work for what we want/need.

A good deed in real sense doesn't need so much of dramatization. He could have simply shown that he took him, he is safe with him and family members can come yo him. All this shooting with melancholic musical background seems like someone wants to cash the effort, someone is eyeing something bigger and there is some selfish motive behind it.

Of course. You pull the heart strings of people, and people will donate. But that beggar guy does not look like a mentally challenged person to me. But he is being portrayed as one.
This is the same guy who fed those dogs in one of my posts.
It requires a questioning mind. If I can feed one more dog with the money I would be spending on garland, which one do you think I would prefer.
Then he uses those disposable plates to feed the dogs. They cost too. I would try to economize. I am just too shrewd and observant for these scumbags. But if you read the comments of the followers, and the number of followers he has, hardly anybody questions him. Thanks to the TV serials applauding such behavior.
We offer flowers because our culture requires us to. The real reason is the flowers we offer are essentially the ones that repel snakes. You won't find snakes in Marigold gardens. We offer coconuts because the tree has many uses because of which it needs to be grown. It bears many fruits, more than what people can consume, and this might lead to laziness in bringing down the fruits beyond summer. So to ensure that the fruits are brought down periodically, we have the ritual.
In contemporary context, offering flowers garlanding etc., is superfluous.
Sudha Murthy explained a Sanskrit shloka...I was told of it several years ago, that is when I stopped using flowers for god. But ..the shloka meant, god wants flowers of kindness, compassion, forgiveness, love, etc. Not the ones you grow in the garden. Growing in the garden meant the lady would work too, and the waste was recycled. That was then. Now we buy flowers. The flower should not touch the floor because it is deemed as offered to mother earth. How then, can you pick it and give it to the gods? When the flower vendors pour loads of it on floor, we get flowers which may not be good enough to offer to our gods. LOL.
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

The reason for putting those mango leaves and neem leaves on doors was also explained. Back then, they used cowdung for cementing, and neem leaves are good at preventing some of the micro organisms, which may have survived in the roof...not yet dry. Look at the festival times, when we have to redo the home, and use such leaves and marigold. The reason to use mango leaves is to prevent the branches from being close to the roof of the house (no tall structures by then, which would make it easier for dry leaves to fall on the roof, increasing its weight, and also creating risk of fire in the season. These trees including coconuts were grown close to home because going into the forest was dangerous in those days. Now of course, we have to search for forests. LOL So how do we remain relevant?
