Rock 'N Roll Sushi

We tried a new sushi restaurant this past weekend that just blew my mind! It's a casual dining sushi restaurant built around the theme of rock n roll. The decor, music, lighting and overall vibe of the place set the tone and the mood right from the beginning. Their sushi offerings on the menu were incredible, which so much variety that I had trouble deciding what I wanted. The other two ladies in my party felt the same way, but lucky for us there was a no-brainer option for us (see photo). It was a sushi boat (or in this case guitar) that came with six signature sushi rolls selected by the staff. And they did not disappoint. And the price was a better bargain than each of us in our party selecting individual sushi rolls, so it really worked out to our benefit. And the sushi boat in the shape of a guitar was just an added bonus.
Although we were all hungry, I didn't think the three of us could eat all that sushi, but we managed to finish off the entire thing. With the sushi, drinks and tip, we dropped a Ben Franklin ($100) on the night. Well worth it, and we can't wait to go back again. I think we've now found our new favorite sushi place.
Are you a fan of sushi? If so, do you have a favorite roll? Any type of roll with salmon or tuna on it is primo in my book, but I also sampled a spicy crawfish roll and it was absolutely delicious!

That's what the wasabi sauce and ginger is for, to help protect you from getting sick from eating raw fish.
And by the way, I eat sushi all the time, and have never gotten sick from it.

@Ineeddentures That was my fear for years. It wasn’t until my mid-40s that I finally tried it, and it was because of a cute girl that invited me out on a date.

When I saw that they offered a sushi platter on a guitar-shaped tray, I couldn't resist ordering it. Thankfully, the girls agreed went along with the plan.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I eat it at least once a week, but I only buy it every couple of months or so. I'm friends with a sushi chef, and every Wednesday he stops by my work and brings me a sushi roll. I think I am his sampler for new creations he comes up with, because every time it's some fantastic new taste/flavor.

Yeah, the grocery store when it is on sale for 5 bucks.
That is alot to put on a meal, but for 3 people maybe not so much. There is a Japanese restaurant here that has sushi, but I generally stick with the Hibaachi chicken. I think the sushi is overpriced.

I love salmon with avocado as well. It’s one of my favorite types of sushi. My daughter loves to make poké bowls at home, and she always adds in extra salmon and avocado.

I never had a sushi boat look like that. That’s cool.
I don’t remember if I’ve ever gotten a boat. I don’t eat eel and seafood (crab, shrimp, scallop, etc.) and I believe a boat has that stuff in it.
When you said rock and roll sushi I thought you actually had a rock and roll sushi roll. There is one by that name here but I don’t remember what’s in it.

If I remember correctly, there was a sushi roll on the menu called rock 'n roll. Almost all of the offerings on the menu had names that related to rock 'n roll.

The guitar is really amazing. I don't eat fish very often; and I wouldn't care for raw fish. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

It's scallop season right now here in Florida, and they are saying it is a banner year for harvesting them. That means we should have some great menu options at our local restaurants.

Yes, they serve hibachi as well. I didn't realize that when we went, I saw it on the menu after we had placed our order for the guitar boat. It looks good, I might order that next time. Or, you and I can eat sushi and let Chris have the hibachi.

@moffittjc Yes, HK people love Japanese foods. We have many Japanese restaurants here. Some specialize in selling sushi and sashmi.
