Tomorrow I will go to MY Chinese restaurant for hunch invited by my brother.
It all started a couple of months ago when my brother invited me to a Chinese restaurant. He invites me once in a while in a patronizing way to show me that he knows the best of everything everywhere.
There he asked for duck and was very angry when we were served a dry duck. I always bring back the leftovers because my brother thinks that I´m a pauper.
But then I told him that that dish was cooked a lot better in MY Chinese restaurant. And that I would invite them to it.
When I invited them later my nephew was here with his family and the children only ate pizza. I wrote about that and the Chinese lunch was postponed.
I´ll now go tomorrow with them and I will show them that I know about good restaurants.
This last sentence is just between you and me. I´ll behave tomorrow. And I bet there won´t be leftovers. The Chinese food from that restaurant is awesome.
I´ll now sleep early to be rested for tomorrow. Sleep tight, friends.

It's funny that your brother believes he has a corner on restaurants that serve good food. I hope everything turns out excellent tomorrow and your brother realizes that you also know what good food is and where to buy it.

I am a good cook and I have a picky tummy. So I´d rather cook at home than to eat in bad restaurnts. I brought home all the leftovers from the pizza place and has fun with my nephew and his family. But I only ate a small amount there and later on Luna had the biggest pizza snack.

@DaddyEvil It´s a pity that I lot of the things we like to do can´t be done if we don´t have enough money. I would eat at the Chinese restaurant often if I had more money.

I understand... Luna sometimes gets really good food.
I like to cook but do get tired of making every meal at home... Since the pandemic began and I stopped working, we haven't been able to go out to eat and I'm more than ready to eat restaurant foods again. We're finally, with the help of government grants to help pay our bills, able to afford food I don't have to make at home... As soon as I get the car tagged so it is legal to drive on the streets, you can be sure some of our favorite restaurants will be seeing us again.

Oh, this sounds like it’s going to be a showdown—Battle of the Chinese Restaurants! I can already picture you sitting there, grinning while everyone realizes your place serves duck that doesn’t double as a chew toy. I bet your brother’s going to act like he knew it was good all along. And hey, no shame in bringing home leftovers… except this time, there probably won’t be any! Enjoy your victory meal tomorrow—and yes, rest up! You’ll need your energy to bask in the glory.

I´m sure that all will happen like you are saying.
The time I went to this Chinese restaurant with Martin and his GF I ate for 2 days with the leftovers as they did not know that the dishes were so big.

If that is what there is trying to show one upmanship I would not enter into such a deal

I will not rub that but I can ask him if he likes this restaurant. I think that many times my brother chooses restaurants because of the high price and not because it is good. Years ago we went with my husband to eat at the restaurants in places where fishermen brought their fish. They had little restaurants where their wives worked and we knew that the best dishes were made with the fish that were brought in more. We avoided the "good" restaurants.

@LadyDuck I will remember forever when we went with my parents to a restaurant that all the food critics found awesome. I had to return my dish because the food inside was frozen. My parents also had problems with their dishes. The only one that had no problems was my husband because he did not like exquisite French food and asked for a steak.

@marguicha The expensive restaurants are most of the time not so good. We were invited at the Café de Paris Restaurant in Monte Carlo and I have to say that I would have refused to pay the bill, the food was less than acceptable.

Go girl. I know of a Chinese restaurant here that has been here for many years and still has awesome food. There have been several new ones pop up but this one is best.

There are 2 restaurants in my neighborhood. There is one that is very bad and we have this other awesome one. There is no much difference in price in both of them yet MY restaurant even has big ewd lions at the entrance.

Glad you are going to your restaurant. Don't rub it in too bad when the food is good

Oh lord I feel you. My daughter & her husband invites us to 'the best restaurant' (in their opinion) which frankly are not nice at all. Sometimes you have to keep mum & say nothing but sometimes she tells me l have no filter & I tell how it really is. They invited us a few weeks ago but when I found out where they were going I told them the food is very poor quality & we would rather not join them.
Sleep well!

I have the idea that my brother thinks that the most expensive restaurants are the best. It is not true all the time.

The food was awesome but there were no leftovers. My brother still eats like a teen although he is only a year younger than myself.
