Comfortable Evening

It got very hot and humid this afternoon. That finally built up to a nice thunderstorm. It cooled things down nicely. One lightening strike was very close. It made Jill doberman and me both jump when the thunder cracked. And neither of us are scared of storms. It was just that loud. I baked 8 loaves of zucchini bread, 18 cupcakes and dinner. I figured the oven was on I might as well make it work. I did get the cabbage pulled but haven't shredded it yet. I never got tomatoes picked. We can do those tomorrow. I have jars washed and ready. We had some crazy wild storms this afternoon and evening. Flooded roads everywhere. No rain for so long, and now way too much at once...it seems to often be this way in the summer, all, or nothing. I have a bunch of zucchini to work on. I will do that tomorrow afternoon, as long as the day goes as planned.

That is what often happens. I will have more ready soon. Next week should be cooler, that will help.

@wolfgirl569 'I usually just wash it and shred it and then it gets frozen for bread or whatever. We eat some of it right away, of course. The kids love zucchini bread.

Wish we'd get a thunderstorm here. We did get a nice breeze and some clouds last night though. I envy those that are getting some storms. You are going to have bread and cupcakes clear until next year about this time. I sure miss having a garden. About the only way I can stand tomatoes are fresh out of the garden. The ones at the store are awful.

Oh yes, it rained at my area too. It was bright then suddenly within minutes, it went down and downpour hard before the sun came out again and started to torture us again.

What was for dinner tonight ? we spent the day at the lake, and it thundered and lightning a little bit, we got rained on a few times too. I know you'll sleep good tonight, with all that work.

It feels fulfilling to be able to harvest from your own garden. It would be fun picking your tomatoes. The sun is peeping now and then behind the clouds here. I hope the sun will come out soon in all its glory.

Some thunder claps can be very loud indeed. They make me jump too. I'm about to make some biscuits/cookies and might make cheese straws as well while the oven is hot.
