Howdy from Lexington!! My grand-nephew is having a surgical procedure today, so I’m here in case my niece needs anything. And this is the REAL number four, accept no substitutions! (Thanks to @Orson_Kart for pointing that out! ) Here’s today’s sunny song that’s unquestionably a “Linda? NO!!!!! song. #4: Beyond the Sunset for Me - Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver Yeah, bluegrass a cappella gospel will give Linda a headache. By the way, this is NOT the “Beyond the Sunset” recitation (“should you go first”). Completely different — and better — song. I love the daylights out of Doyle Lawson. I used to take my dear mother of blessed memory to see him at least once a year. She was in love with Lawson’s tenor singer, Jamie Dailey (who’s now half of Dailey and Vincent). I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Lawson over the years (one of the most memorable times was in McAlester, Oklahoma, where he had the pleasure of announcing to the audience that Timothy McVeigh had been convicted). He, like many bluegrass bands, changes band members more frequently than I change socks, but he has always maintained an exceptional quality of musicianship and vocal harmonies. As many a cappella songs as he does (especially live), that’s vital. There’s nowhere to hide in bluegrass if you don’t have talent. He has it with plenty to spare. Bluegrass is something, along with many other things music, that I know absolutely nothing about . Having listened, well, it's just not me , at least that song isnt

Bluegrass is pretty Appalachian. The traditional music doesn’t translate well for a lot of people.

I’m not a fan of gospel but I do like a bit of a cappella. This is ok, but I preferred the “other” #4.

@FourWalls You’re welcome. I’ve got at least 5 songs that haven’t made your list yet. As you’ve only 3 to go, someone is going to be disappointed.

@Orson_Kart — one’s country, one’s long forgotten, and the last one is an album cut. So lots of people are going to be disappointed. Not the first time I’ve done that.

There was one that was called “Beyond the Sunset,” which was often covered and probably better known. Personally, I never cared for that one. Thank you, my grand-nephew did great!

@MarieCoyle — he’s doing better. He said the worst thing is the hiccups, because they’re full-body shakers.
