I never remember this stuff tasting this bad.

Dunkin' Donuts coffee...well, they sell donuts, and they sell coffee of course. I have never been a big fan of Dunkin, and the ones we have here are not the best anyway. A good friend used to go there a lot to get some fancy type of iced coffee. She loved it. I just thought it was...meh.
The neighbor I have that is known for purchasing too many things and then either donating them or giving them away, brought me a bag of Dunkin' Donuts coffee about two weeks ago. It was unopened and just the regular flavor, nothing fancy. She said she bought several bags on sale and decided she didn't like the coffee. It's not old, the expiration date is a year in the future...I opened it last night to fix the coffee maker as it was time to open new coffee, I had used my last in the old container. It smelled good. I brewed it this morning.
All I can say is...UGH. It's just disgusting. It sort of tastes sweetly bitter, if that makes sense? I drink my coffee black, and I prefer a dark roast. This wasn't dark, but hey, I will most usually drink the regular stuff as well as the dark--the dark is just my preference. But this stuff was terrible.
Now, I have a dilemma. It's opened, and minus one pot's worth of coffee. I guess I can mix it with a different kind of coffee and use it up a little at a time, I hate wasting things. I am going to try that tomorrow morning. Maybe it will help the taste.
I'm not that picky. But it truly does taste strange.

@MarieCoyle - It is true coffee is very expensive now and I also do not want to waste. I have some pods that I do not like a lot, I add some dairy cream when the coffee is ready.

We learn as we go when something just isn’t what we expect it to be.

I did that this morning, about 2/3 of what I used was my usual dark roast, then I added some Dunkin to the ground basket and brewed it. It helped a lot to disguise the taste of the Dunkin by itself. Coffee is so, so expensive...so I am glad it worked out this way. But OH, I will never buy this brand. By itself, it's just terrible.

I am glad I am not alone in my opinion of their coffee. I honestly have not had any of their donuts in years.

You could send it here. I'd get rid of it for ya.

It most definitely was an improvement mixing it with another coffee. Hey, I would send it to you but by itself it is not good!

Snowy, I don't think you would like this coffee by itself. The son tried a bit of it and said ''what on earth is this nasty brew?'' and he isn't that critical about coffee...maybe it's a fluke, but it's sure strange tasting.

I used to love a nice not cup of coffee from Dunkin but not anymore. It doesn't taste the same as it used to and I thought it was just me.
Mixing it with another coffee might do the trick and certainly wouldn't waste it.

Maybe they have changed their coffee in some way. I thought it was just me, but I looked up some reviews and a lot of people are saying it’s pretty nasty. No more Dunkin after this freebie bag is gone!

@MarieCoyle Guess it's not just us if even reviews are saying it's nasty.

I did have a good giggle when I went to the store the other day. I always check the coffee aisle, to see if there are any good sales (there really isn't anymore) and all of the less expensive brands were either out of stock, or very low. They have lots of the pricey ones in stock...and then there was Dunkin Donuts coffee. It was the only one fully stocked. Maybe the word is out that their coffee is...not very good!
Yes, I can't taste it since I have been mixing it in with the other, little by little.

When I measure my coffee to brew a pot, I use four scoops. So now I am using one scoop of the Dunkin I don't like, and three of the coffee I prefer. It is barely noticeable and I am glad to use it up this way.
Today at the store, I looked at all the coffee prices. Coffee goes up constantly, it's getting just ridiculous!

If you don’t like the taste don’t use it. If you mix it with something else you run the risk of spoiling it all.

I mixed it with 3 parts of my favorite dark roast blend and one part of the Dunkin. I barely noticed the difference, so my plan is working fine. It will be gone by the end of the week, yay!

That’s exactly what I did, Julia. It worked well and the mixture produced good results!

It was a lot better this morning when I mixed it with my usual dark roast. But by itself, so nasty!

How coffee can smell good and taste that bad is a mystery!

It seems many people don't care for it. No wonder the neighbor with the shopping addiction gave me a whole, unopened bag!

I don't drink coffee, but my mother does. I never had their donuts either. Glad mixing it helped.

This bag of Dunkin has me convinced they have somehow change their recipe. The grounds are not soured, they smell delicious. Then you brew it and it tastes so terrible.

If it's that bad, dump it. Don't force yourself to drink it. I don't like waste either; but if it's bad, it's bad.

If I can’t finish the bag I will try to pass it on. Today when I mixed it with dark roast and brewed a pot it was good. I just didn’t use very much of it.
