Today I drove through West Nashville. As I was there, I had to pull up a song to listen to. @NJchicaa will approve. I’m on my way to Memphis, although I didn’t make it today. That brought up another song. Yes, listening to the music is the cheap way to travel. A great way to travel. I can’t travel without the music. But I do prefer the travel. I’ll detail my terrific history lesson later (which taught me something about music, believe it or not!), but I wanted to first say hey! The photos are my infotainment screen in the car when I stopped at a rest area.

We are talking about a stop in Nashville on our way to New Jersey in couple of months. We need to get busy and map this trip out with our stops!

Watch out, they’re doing yet MORE construction in Nashville. I don’t think they even do construction, they just move the lane closure barrels every year.

@FourWalls I have not been in Nashville for years and years without getting in that huge interstate traffic snarl due to supposed road construction!! It’s way past the ridiculous stage!

@MarieCoyle @FourWalls It is amazing how road construction in some areas never really gets completed! Louisiana is a typical example!

The radio is usually on if Pretty and I go somewhere but I'm not paying attention to it. Pretty usually has something weird playing on it. I don't say anything. Most of my attention is either on the road or replying to whatever she's talking about at the time.

Yeah, I know, you wouldn’t know a song if it slapped you. That’s how I know someone has hacked your account, when “you” say you know a song.

I have a playlist (haven’t transferred it yet) called “Travelogue.” I have all kinds of stuff to annoy, I mean, enjoy.

You have the heart of a lion. When I travel to somewhere big like Savannah I use public transportation. No way will I drive.

And the brains of an amoeba to drive! I still enjoy it, but I certainly understand why people don’t want to drive.

@FourWalls I admit that even in my corner of the world I am landlocked. I drive to Olympia maybe twice or so a year now but no further due to the freeway traffic. I no longer enjoy driving near semi trucks and fast drivers.

Yes it is! You just can’t have a fast song playing near a policeman though!

I always regret having a meltdown on our way to the Keys. My hubby was very disappointed; and I"m sure he was resentful of me.

I don’t know why, you couldn’t help it, and those things happen for a reason. I had a major panic attack in Wyoming and took that as a sign to not go to Idaho and Washington.

@FourWalls The traffic was just so bad; and I knew he wanted me to drive. I think that's why I froze up. I told him in the morning that I was better and we could continue; but he turned around and went back home.

Well Memphis surely light on the memory of a famous song in my head. I also like to listen to the music when we travel.

As I told NJ Chic, the version of “Memphis” I grew up with was Johnny Rivers’ single, which we had for some reason (my dad usually poo-pooed rock and roll).

We had the 45 of Johnny Rivers singing this when I was a kid. That’s “my” version. Sorry, Chuck (Chuck Berry wrote it).
