Wheee! My first sunflower of 2025!

I awoke this morning to find a sunflower in full bloom. Its taller but skinnier brother will bloom soon. Do you agree that it is a good thing to experience joy at the "little things"in life?

@TheHorse Mom always soaked them overnight in salty water before putting them in the oven to bake the water back out of them. They were delicious! I hope you and the kids enjoyed them.

When I worked at Project Pride in Oakland, the kids and I would harvest the seeds and cook them up.

@BarBaraPrz Bunnies were my nemesis when I lived in Orinda. They were cute, but they ate everything I tried to grow.

How pretty. Yes, we should stop and smell the coffee or the roses. I remember standing in the driveway eating sunflower seeds when I was young. The sunflowers had dish sized "faces".
