Sure is good I am going back to work soon. Everything is requiring money. The Mazda has had a sound that actually started this winter, then stopped, but has been perturbing me all summer, and getting worse. We drive it most because it gets better mileage and it's a/c works the best. Well it finally got to Bob and not just me. I have been refusing to drive it, but we take it when we go some place together. We drove it to Wichita yesterday and it seemed even worse. One mechanic we use is understaffed and could not take it for a drive or do any kind of diagnostic, so Bob took it to Herrington. The noise is our driver's front wheel bearing, going out. It is an old car, they have located parts. The lowest price online is $250 but it can go up over $1000. And then there is Pedro. He will get a check up, nails trimmed, flea treatment, checked for worms, all of his shots . . . and neutered. Of course it will be close to $250. Guess I had better work hard on myLot to help pay for things. LOL It is important to take care of things, and pets.

I’m sorry, Heather. I hate to know you have to go back to your hectic work, but I know it’ll be nice to be able to pay for things.

I have found I am pretty bored and lonely not working. My doctor thinks I will never retire. I mis MOST of my coworkers but I am going to be half days on a different team, and then sub if I want to.

@GardenGerty I don’t think my dad will ever retire either. I sure don’t want you to be bored or lonely. I just want you to feel better. But if some days are half days, then that’s great.

@AmbiePam Part of my problems from last December through May was all the different medicines they kept trying that are supposed to "protect my heart". They all make me hurt, and cause fatigue. The other thing was the heavy duty responsibilities and the person who could help best was the teacher, and she was always stretched thin helping everyone else. I am concerned that it will be that way with my new little one. He has many of the same needs and some of them worse, but I was "so good" with my other kid and he made so much progress that they naturally asked me to take on the child who is just starting his in school experience.

Repairs at this point are less than buying a new one as far as the cars go.

Pets and vehicles are expensive... We're lucky when we can afford everything we need and Pedro is lucky he found someone like you and your hubby. I hope his vet visit goes well and he doesn't realize his loss. Ouch! Car part prices suck! Working hard and talking a lot on myLot will definitely help you pay both bills eventually.

At this point repairing a car is still cheaper than making a car payment. As Bob said, it is still a good car and will be for a long time. I like the good a/c

You're right. Taking care of fur kids costs a couple two or three pay checks. I'm glad noone has been stuck on the side of the road yet.

I agree Heather, it is important to take care of things and pets. And we need money to do all that. My motorcycle needs repair but it has to wait.

Yes I have that same noise with my car, and I suspect the same thing. You should get Pedro microchipped too especially since he goes outside. If I had an outside kitty. I would get a little GPS tracking device for him too .so I knew where to locate him.

I am hoping that getting him neutered will help with the wandering. Chip only helps if someone will check on it. Bruno came with a chip and I got him registered for a lifetime. A tracker would be better for us, with Pedro.

@GardenGerty I spent my husband's two insurance policies and the money I got from Carvana for the Scion. I'm not doing anymore projects for a while.

Luckily, the investments I made years ago have a nice payoff. I retired two years ago, but I'm getting antsy and thinking about going back to work in some capacity. More money is never a bad thing even if you don't need it.

It is nice when you can just work doing what you want and when. One reason I stay where I am is because I really like most of my co workers. And I have been there long enough and with enough extra training that my pay is decent for around here. Lots of days off is a plus as well.

Oh, car repairs can be so costly. I hope it is not up over $1000 like you mentioned. And of course veterinary care is very expensive, I know. Is there a low cost spay/neuter place near you? Sometimes there is...it helps a lot.

@MarieCoyle I did this once and the kitty got stolen immediately after. It still will keep down the number of new babies.

This vet is the lowest price near here. It would not be so bad if it was just the neutering or just the initial check up and shots and I sure do not want fleas or kitty worms.

@GardenGerty When you adopt a stray, it's best to get it all done to be safe, I agree.
