Woman found traveling with a two year old child in her suitcase.

Seriously?? I thought, this has to be a bad, cruel joke. But it's not.
The bus driver saw the piece of luggage move when he was removing luggage from under the bus at a scheduled stop. The two-year-old was described as very overheated. How she didn't die is beyond me, but she survived.
Who does this type of thing? What kind of mindset do you have to have, to stuff your toddler in a suitcase?? Yes, I know. She has to be mentally ill, but still...
I am not sure why I am shocked when I hear about these things, but I still am.

None, that I read of anyway. She does have charges against her and is being investigated, which is good. I hope they remove the child from her care!

In my very younger days, I would fantasize being a kid in a suitcase having that adventure
. But in all seriousness, we all know that's more than dangerous. Saving money on traveling fees is a terrible motivating factor if that was the case - how dare anyone endanger their child that way.

@MarieCoyle That's so messed up for anyone to do that to a child - it's abuse
.

Many bus and train services offer free travel for very young children? Maybe, she just didn't want to be bothered with the child? It still boggles the mind, and hurts the heart.

I simply can’t imagine how terrified she must have been!

The cold fear that tiny child must have felt in that suitcase!! That experience will stay with her forever, even if she is only 2 years old. So very sad.

@MarieCoyle Such experiences can be life-damaging. We can only imagine the trauma. But it's hard for the child to let go.

The driver is definitely a good Samaritan. He not only saw the luggage move, but he took appropriate action. Congrats to him!
Is there anything latest on this? Any latest update. I'm curious to know about the person who put the baby there so cruelly.

A person has to wonder if she is mentally ill.

I looked for an update. She was in court, they are holding her in confinement. The little one is still in the hospital. If convicted, the woman could get ten years.
Update~~

@MarieCoyle I still cannot figure all this out but I also thought perhaps she kidnapped that child. Who knows,

I rather doubt the mother gets her child returned to her, but I suppose time will tell.

Some parents are so weird. I saw a video the other night about a normal traffic stop turned into a homicide investigation when the police started checking out this ladies car. She had this big bundle in her trunk. Come to find out it was a suitcase and storage bin with the two decomposing bodies of her neice and nephew that her sister had left with her months earlier. There sure some crazy and evil people in this world.

I have to wonder why some people ever have children. Some people just are not made to be parents.

Maybe she wasn't really thinking of what the consequences could be? I am sure we won't ever know.

That kind of reminds me of one of my sisters. She always changed the price of things in stores back in the day. She was visiting us once when daughter was around 7 or 8. She took daughter on a city bus and told daughter not to say how old she was cause if daughter was 5 or younger she would get on the bus for free. Daughter said no!! Her parents would get mad if she fibbed like that. Daughter came home and told us about the incident.

@MarieCoyle Thanks. I remember being a kid and seeing sister change tags. Horrified me. Makes me wonder about my Mom. Why did I think it wrong to basically steal and my sister didn't?

I think it's that way in a lot of families. One will be honest and aboveboard, and the other isn't. It's strange, for sure!

I know. But surely they are affected somehow mentally to do such things? I’m no psychologist, it just seems to me most of the time, that’s the reason.

@MarieCoyle They just think about what they want to achieve and come up with a way to get to that. Sometimes awkward reality gets in the way but they don't always take that into account.

@MarieCoyle I think you're probably right, not thinking through the consequences combined with ignorance / lack of knowledge for example in this case not realising that it would get hot in there!

When I hear about this type of thing happening, I always wonder--did anyone that was close to the person doing this possibly notice that something was wrong, that the person was exhibiting strange behaviors, or was somewhat different than their normal self?

This is a big crime she is doing, it can cause traumatic to anybody, me too can be panic or afraid to the situation. I feel sad to that kind of mentality. Maybe she kidnapped the baby that is why she put in a luggage bag. A big crime she did. I hope the baby is Ok and the lady is in jail now.
