Friends, please forgive me for gushing, but I’ve never seen them in person before. And now, there they are.
The Rocky Mountains.
It’s like when I saw Badlands in South Dakota four years ago: I was just overwhelmed.
From the first glimpse to this photo, taken at the Whataburger parking lot with the moon rising over the mountains, it’s just been a wow fest.
The time for dealing with the fun manmade stuff is over (although I have more discussions to bore you with). Now, on to God’s beauty.
Photo of the moon rising in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The sight of the moon rising over the mountain in the Rocky Mountains reminds of the mountains in the farmlands in the interior of Panama.

@FourWalls It was in June, up in the mountains. We didn’t even need an air conditioner then.

You are a great photographer - I can see that It is not always what you see is what you get but this is an exception

You’re kind. It’s just point the phone at the beauty and snap in this case!

This is my third time ever in mountain time zone. The second time this decade. This is my second visit to New Mexico, the first being in 1983.

I love being in mountainous areas. I truly enjoyed living in Montana for the time I was there. You are always so appreciative of what you are seeing around you, and yes, New Mexico is very special, too. Hey, are you going to Roswell? It's a hoot all in itself!

I’m not going to Roswell. I’m not into that alien/Area 51 stuff. (She said…now watch me end up there.

I am not really into it either, but it is interesting to see. Roswell has capitalized on it to build their town up, of course. But all the little alien signs and such are fun, anyway.

The Rockies are great. I felt the same way when I saw the Badlands...otherworldly. I want to go back.

Yes, the Rockies are grand. I can look right outside my window and look up at them. It is wonderful living here in Idaho. There is so much wonder to be hold.

It’s where the “dry heat” takes over. It was 99 degrees but 11% humidity, so no heat index.

@FourWalls - That is not at all bad. The humidity was higher here this morning, it was 61%, usually never goes over 45%.

I’m sure the people out here are “used” to it, like I’m “used” to Mammoth Cave.

Just now
@FourWalls We have had overseas visitors from big cities comment on our vivid blue skies and on the stars at night. This was when we lived out of town and there were no lights around at night.

Wow. It's like the first glimpse of Grand Canyon or when we saw Mt. (can't remember which one) in Vancouver with its snow-covered peaks.

You are sure putting on some miles. My first husband was Navy, stationed in San Diego. We went through Albuquerque often on the way to Oklahoma, or vice versa, OK to CA. I was a very inexperienced driver but my turn to drive came at sunrise going through the mountains between two semi trucks. I love the God made spaces.
