Would You Go Forward?

I did a Discussion about going back and being allowed a do-over in the past...but what about the future? How far would you like to go? What would you like to see? The possibilities are endless. I would like to see the technological and medical advancements in 50-100 years from now. I would like to see if the apes evolve into talking beings capable of working, etc. That could be hundreds of years in the future. I would like to see if we discover life on other planets. I would like to see if the human species survives all the pollution, climate change and possibly even an eruption at Yellowstone. Have we avoided war? I hope so. The sun is expected to shine for another 5 billion years before it gives out. What about movements in the planets, a huge meteor strike. So many things that could happen. I would even like to hear what "music" will sound like in 50-100 years. What changes, if any, will a human have in a few hundred years? What about you? Would you like to see the future? How far in the future; and what would you like to see? Photo Credit: Pixabay

I guess I will pass on moving forward to see the future. I prefer to imagine a future that I would like to see than to be deceived.

@LadyDuck I ordered 11/22/63 from eBay. It was pretty expensive (for some reason this book is expensive everywhere); but I used my PayPal money.

I would like to go just far enough in the future to see if we survive the politics of now. I want to see the next election. I guess not just politics, though. I want to see what is going to be done about waking up every morning to a new random shooting somewhere.

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I know what you mean about surviving the present administration. So many programs are being cancelled. I don't know what can be done about the shootings except to pay closer attention to those that are having undue stress in their lives.

You may think this is odd, but I wish I lived long enough to see the year 2112. The reason is because of a rock band that I really like named RUSH. They made a rock album that they named 2112. The album is truly classic about the future. Many fans have had the same thoughts about how cool it would be to be alive during that year.

Interesting. I think we wouldn't recognize the world in 2112. Things are changing so fast in the technology and medical fields. I can't imagine what 2112 would bring. Thank you for your comments.

Because of my faith, I believe that what I shall behold in my future after my earthly life ends, is beautiful and reuniting. As a result I have no desire to know about anything that will occur here. In fact, I declined testing when my doctor asked if he could do testing for Alzheimers, which is in my family. I feel like I would curl up in a ball and stop living.

@LindaOHio basically you have a big anger at him and you need to resolve this anger. I believe he relaizes this and does not know how to better approach you,
Stabbing someone in the back is a metaphor for betrayal or deceit, so dreaming about stabbing someone can be pretty alarming. It may point to deep-seated feelings of anger and aggression affecting you in your

There's no telling where the next 50 -100 yrs will take us & at my age I will never know or be able to see that far I'll be lucky to see the next 20 yrs from now with my health. With todays world, the way things are with the human race people killing each other for the fun of it, the justice system is letting crime go free, I fear what the future looks like.

I thought you asked about a do-over, in which case I'd change which junior high I chose. Don't know if it would change anything but if it meant we didn't have to move, it might be worth it.

The do-over was for the past. This Discussion is asking if you'd like to take a peek into the future. When? And what would you like to see? Thank you for your comment about the junior high. That might have changed your whole future. You would meet different people....

Very interesting. I would like to know how invasive AI will be, but I'm glad I won't be here to find out. But I dread it for my kids.

There was a documentary a few years ago that showed what the planet would be like in the future. But yeah I would like to see the technological and medical advancements in the future. I would like to know if we would be like the movie Wall-E or like the show Black Mirror.

At times, I feel we can be reborn at any time - either in the distant past or the future. Maybe, it has happened to us all through but we are unaware. My wish is to see at first hand the legends that shaped our lives - whoever they maybe. I would like to compare what is told about them and what the reality was. I am not very keen on the future. We are becoming more like machines as the days go by.

I am always curious. I do think things will be very different 50-100 years from now. I mean, even in my short time on the Earth, so much has changed, and from history, a lot has changed from the 1800s to before I was born. Who knows what it will be like, but I'd be curious to take a peek.
