Cats Are Driving Me to Drink

Yes, I might have to get a bottle of tequila. No, not hardly. I woke in a bad mood. My body was stiff from the position I had slept in PLUS, my eggs had too much milk in them so the consistency was nill and void(mushy). Not good. I was disappointed. Didn't help my mood. I was rather grumpy.
I woke up with Whiskers(the female Tux cat we have) staring at me from her perch on the tv stand. She had moved the tv screen which I don't like. She listened and got down when I asked her to. But, then there was Silver. The older male gray we have. He has been sleeping up on a corner of the tv stand. I don't like it because he can pull the cord of the tv. But, to make matters worse he is now choosing to climb down behind the tv stand to sleep. This is dangerous because I have a surge protector with about 3 or 4 cords attached and he pulls them when he climbs down there. So I screech and Josh comes to my aid. He and Silver have a close relationship. They have known eachother most of their lives. So he can gently extract him from behind the tv stand. This has happened about half a dozen times so far, and I am not a happy camper. Silver is one that likes to climb up into things and he gets on the middle shelp of my ratan corner shelf too. It is fragile and I have had it for probably 30 years. It's delicate. I don't have many things but those I have I treasure and don't want to have them wrecked. I love these cats but sometimes I just want to strangle them.
I hope the day gets better. I will eat some chocolate and see how I feel. I've become such a baby.

We haven't had furry pets since Pretty was around 5 years old. (Her mom kept giving them to her and I'd give them away because I was already allergic to furbabies by the time Pretty was born. Her mom was just trying to drive me crazy. Finally, a judge in our divorce told her to stop buying furbabies and sending them to my house.)
I do remember how much trouble cats could be and am just as happy I don't have to deal with them.
I hope you feel better in a little while.

Sounds like you had a good/smart judge. My daughter and grandson couldn't go long without cats. I like them but they can be annoying at times. It sounds like you were married to quite a witch.
I do feel a little better after eating.

@celticeagle The judge in our case stopped her just in time. She'd bought a new cat that was HUGE! The judge told her to keep pets at her house. That cat was always peeing/pooping in their shoes and scratching the furniture to pieces. I thought it was hilarious!
I'm glad you're feeling better.

Yes, but my daughter and grandson love them so. I just have to put up with them. My grandson is good about coming to my rescue so that helps.

@celticeagle I love my crew even though Charlie makes life difficult. They keep me sane.

@NJChicaa ........I love the cats. Each has an individual personality. Just like people. Some are easy to live with and others aren't.

A bit of choco helps I understand this.
I wonder if there is some way to block the kitties from doing these things. I mean some kind of 'fence' type thing.

We finally set the tv stand back against the wall. That did the trick. I just don't like it back against the wall. But it's better than Silver getting back there. The little scally wag.

@celticeagle Yes I don't blame you not wanting it up against the wall..if your TV is like mine it gets hot..yeah they don't need to be back there.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. We always had dogs. I can't deal with cats.

Our cats have not discovered the TV yet. It is bad enough that they like to interfere with my computer. Bruno does. Pedro has not learned that trick yet.

That would be delightful. We cleared some out of ours recently. Had pulled pork for two nights. It was really good.
