So, I was in the kitchen making coffee and while at the sink I was looking out my kitchen window..never really see anything out of it, but this morning there was a deer and a fawn. I was looking right into the doe's eyes. She had been eating some tender shoots sticking off the deck. She looked at me, but since I stood still she wasn't scared. I tried to pick Nico up to show them, but of course he wasn't having it, (his loss) Anyway, As per usual couldn't get a pic..but it was really cute. I even saw some doe, fawn love. Lots of greenery here, they could invite the whole herd! Nice thing to see first thing in the morning.

Very nice! Once in a while we have a deer or two wander up into our back yard and start cropping grass/clover back there. As soon as they see someone moving in the window, they run to the culvert and back toward the woods at the other end of it. All I've seen lately are crows and sparrows hopping around in the grass back there eating bugs.

This deer didn't seem to be scared. I think we just saw each other at the same time, or she heard the water running and looked up.

@snowy22315 You're luckier than we are, then. They always run if they see movement here.

@DaddyEvil Well thiis is a big lawn..so if they are on the other side of it, they don't usually run. if I am outside,Also, I have a lot of windows. I can see them from my bed sometimes in the morning..

You have been lucky to have them so close to you. Nico is never around when there is something interesting to watch.

He was out here, but he refused to be picked up. If you manage to do it he will let your hold him for a little while but he is not fond of the process.

@LadyDuck Nico will sit by me in the chairs, and sometimes in laps. What he likes is if I lay on the couch..he will come and lie down on me.

@snowy22315 My cat Gevi never let me pick him up. If he was in the mood he jumped on my lap, but not often.

What a lovely way to start the morning! Deer are such gentle creatures. Even without a photo, your description painted the picture perfectly.

It was sweet. They were there for a little while, if I hadn't messed around with Nico I might have been able to take a pic with my phone.

That was a nice way to start your morning. Deer roam around here but haven't seen one right outside my kitchen window. Usually they are by the cornfields right outside my comunity.

I do see them in the yard fairly frequently, but not so close to the house like that. It is getting towards fall now, so they will probably be a more active. It was a nice sight.

That would be so nice to see. Maybe they'll come back. I wouldn't sometimes surprise a kangaroo but if I stood stock-still they would sometimes ignore me and go about their business.

As long as they don't perceive you as a threat, they are perfectly content to do their thing

How nice. All we ever saw here were deer tracks in the front yard in the snow.
