Unexpected Visit and a Big Bear Hug

Happy Friday Everyone! it's a hot and sunny day here today. We might have a pop up thunderstorm but who knows. They predicted one for yesterday and it never happened. Yesterday my day started off on the wrong foot (so to speak). I had to make a call to my credit card company because being the dumbbell that I am I accidently booted myself off when trying to make a purchase and then it locked me out of my account. I got an email saying there had been a fraudulent attempt on my card and to call. I called and was transferred to the fraud dept and got the run around. It's along story and one that would bore you if I just rattled on and on about it but to make a long story short they wound up putting a hold on my card because the information I was providing wasn't enough. Guess they wanted my first born Anyway, I was so mad for a good part of the morning until my doorbell rang and it was my grandson. He is heading back to college today and came for a visit yesterday. I hardly saw him over the summer as he was going back and forth to the college where he tutors music students (he's a music major) and when he's home he's working at our local supermarket. That kid doesn't sit still for a minute. He's gotten so tall and even more handsome and he gave me the biggest bear hug that he said has to last me until Thanksgiving when he'll be home again. I know my oldest daughter is probably already crying this morning as he heads back to school. Summer has certainly flown by.

All I can say is that Thanksgiving is only 104 days away, not really all that long but painfully long when waiting to see someone important.

I'm glad he found time to come by and visit with you before returning to college. That hug will last but will be getting mighty thin by the time you get to see him again, though. I hope they get your card figured out quickly. (You could always tell them you'll find another credit card company and they can forget about "fixing" your card and see what happens then. )

You're right about my hug having to last until Thanksgiving Hopefully some of the other grandkids will be here to visit before then and I can squeeze some hugs out of them I'm so mad about my credit card. I should have just told them to cancel it and send me a new one or just cancel it altogether. Unfortunately I have a charge that is billed monthly and I didn't want to screw that up. Guess I'll be spending time on the phone this week trying to get it all sorted out.

@Marilynda1225 I'm sure your other grandkids will be around before Thanksgiving... I'm glad I don't have a recurring bill hooked to a bank card. I've always had recurring bills taken out of my checking account. Pretty goes online and pays everything at the end of the month now.

@DaddyEvil I usually don't have recurring payments linked to my credit card but I decided to take out a warranty for my appliances when I had to have the fridge repaired. Usually everything else is paid through my bank

My grandson always makes me smile (well all of them do ) The whole credit card thing is a big fiasco. Guess I'll have to figure out how to solve that whole thing this week.
