Two Beagles

Well actually it seems like the old normal of a new one a month or more is back. We had two stray beagles 3 weeks ago and I posted on our community page about them. They were gone the following day.
Then oddly enough 2-3 days later I see on another community page that there are two beagles for sale. I honestly felt like these were the same two dogs at my house. I assumed they escaped their yard, since they had collars on and were sweet dogs.
This really upset me, but what could I do about it? I had no proof. But I did learn the lesson about posting on the community page on Facebook. I will no longer give a general location of where dogs are or were found. They will have to PM me and describe the dog and give name(s), etc.
I think this will prevent any more wrong doings! I have felt so bad about these two pups.
Have you ever had a similar situation happen to you?

I'm always seeing lost dogs and cas on the neigbrs app for Ring. I even posted once when a dog found its way to our front porch.

We have had lost dogs come out of the woods which is fine and don't mind taking them in and feeding them. Some of those have been reunited with owners, but this situation doesn't feel right. Also, have had several dogs just dumped here. Even a litter of puppies before.

I've no dogs, and so no question of losing arises. I don't keep them as my pets, because I know I can't properly look after them.

Part of why I waited so long before making it official with Pedro. He acted like a family cat, and no, I did not post him, because of things like that. A lot of people post when their pets are missing and I do respond if I know anything.

I would be frantic about the poor dogs. I'm sure their owners are looking for them.

If they belonged to you then perhaps you could create a noise.

If my gut feelings are right, I'm not liking the fact that they "stole" the dogs and then put them up for sale to make money off of them. That doesn't sit right with me at all. We have fostered and kept lost hunting dogs that have come out of the woods thin as bones and fed them and cared for them until owners showed up or kept them. Have had some of the best pets that way. That just wasn't the case with the appearance of these two. It makes me sad.

Your plan to be more cautious with details sounds smart; it’s hard to balance helping lost pets and keeping them safe. I haven’t personally had that happen, but I can see how it would make anyone feel upset and cautious.
