Lucky for you, I’m done blabbing about the vacation. It was utterly amazing. My first time to see the Grand Canyon from the ground (instead of a plane, which is how I first saw it), and to see the Rocky Mountains. And the beauty of the desert southwest. This is one I won’t forget. My cloud storage heaved a sigh of relief when I offloaded my photos onto my storage disks (yes, plural, I keep backups of my backups). From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for coming along for the ride. Beauty that spectacular is so much better when you share it with someone. Until next time… The photo is from Arizona.

We saw the Grand Canyon from the ground on our way home from the Pacific Ocean/California trip when Pretty was around 8 years old. It was beautiful!

It’s indescribable, that’s for certain.

@FourWalls We didn't go down into the Grand Canyon. I was afraid Pretty couldn't do that long of a trip riding a burro but I did buy her a stuffed toy burro to bring home with her. It's packed away with most of our other stuffed animals in a plastic tote in the garage. The only stuffed animals that didn't go into the tote are the elephant and the baby we were given when Pretty was around 5 years old at a farm auction. (I wrote a discussion about them when the elephant exploded after I'd washed both of them and partly dried them in the dryer. The little elephant looked like something mauled him. I re-stuffed him and sewed him up again.)

I believe those would be classified as mesas.

@Fleura — thank you so much!! The website I was looking at said the differences in some cases are “splitting hairs,” and the buttes in the northern plains are much different. Thanks again!!!

@FourWalls They're called buttes, the most famous ones are the East and West Mittens

I have a similar photo, I should really label all the photos I took during our trips. I do the same as you do I keep backups of my backups, but the photos are so many that it's all the time hard to find what I would like to see.

I separated these into folders for Route 66, the desert states, the plains states, and a separate folder for the Grand Canyon.

@FourWalls - I started the job of separating into folders. It's a work in progress, but I will arrive to have everything sorted.

Lovely view. I'm probably going to Phoenix for a couple of days next year but I won't go to the Grand Canyon.

@FourWalls Daughter says Phoenix has harsher weather than Tucson where she lives. She advised us to go in September when its not too hot or raining like mad. Washington has many climate areas. Do you like dryer or wetter? But right now even southwest WA where I am is very dry unless you water.

@sallypup — I usually prefer dryer, because my allergies tend to not like damp weather.

You're very welcome. We couldn't think of another person better (other than LoueyVille of course) to take a trip with.

Now, if I’d only just tone down that country music, right? Thank you.

You saw alot this last time. What an adventure! I don't keep a cloud storage. I have USB-thumb drives. One for my documents and one for my pictures. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. I enjoy them a lot.

I’m so glad you enjoyed them. I have cloud storage but not enough to keep all my photos, so I have an external hard drive and a thumb drive.
