I'll preface this by saying my son-in-law is the service manager for a busy car dealership. That place is aways hopping and the waiting room basically full.
I've heard some really head shaking stories from his customer service experiences but this week took the cake.
The first story was a dad who showed up with 3 kids under the age of 5 and a puppy. The kids were running wild and the puppy peed and pooped all over the waiting room floor. The dad did take some paper towels to clean up after the puppy but lost one of his kids. Since he wasn't really paying attention he didn't even realize the kid was gone. They finally found the kid in a whole different part of the building.
The second story is a guy who showed up with 2 Rottweilers and decided to wait in the waiting room. Every time a customer came in the dogs growled and barked scaring everyone. The man was asked nicely to take them outside but he refused numerous times. The next thing my son-in-law knows is one of the dogs is sitting next to him in his office and just death staring at him. The dog owner was again asked to remove the dog and his response was "he won't hurt you, he's just interested in what you're doing".
It's getting more and more common for people coming in for service to bring their dogs with them but half of them wait outside while the others think it's fine to have their dogs in the waiting room.
I've even noticed that it's not so unusual to see a dog in the store anymore whereas it used to be forbidden.
What do you think? Do you bring your dog everywhere you go? or have you seen dogs in stores, etc more now?

Dogs are cute and all that but I don't think they should be bring them if they have some business in that office.
One time there was an old man with his big dog at a mall. Apparently the dog does not know how to ride the escalator or maybe it's the first time of the dog and the old man cannot carry him. The dog was injured. Good thing the mall have pet shop and vet clinic there. Poor dog.

I bring my dog to no facility other than Petco because pets are openly welcome. I would never think to bring my pet somewhere it obviously does not belong. Unless the animal is a service animal, people should respect the home or place of business they are going to and find an alternative.
As for unruly children? I do not want to hear you couldn’t get a babysitter. Parents let their children behave like brats, but the public should not be the ones to pay the consequences.
It upsets me a bit when my best friend brings one of her particular dogs to my apartment. She never asks, and one might think since I have a dog it shouldn’t matter to me. When this particular huge dog sheds hair like a politician shedding their skin (while my tiny dog does not), that does bother me. Also, I have seen her smuggle her tiny dog in the grocery story, and paint and pottery place while it hides in her sweatshirt. That’s rude.

It has increased here too. Most I have seen were well behaved but they do not belong in a grocery store.

Can they put up a sign banning dogs? People have no idea sometimes with their dogs. It seems they have to go everywhere with them. I haven't seen too many in stores here. Often, they hitched to a rail outside.

I know, that dogs in the store thing I don't like. For all you know the dog is dropping fleas on the produce. I don't know why stores have suddenly start thinking that is OK. The thing about dog owners is they don't seem to realize not everyone is as crazy about their dogs as they are..

One of my biggest pet peeves are unruly kids. They should be taught from an early age to act appropriately. And, the same goes with animals. If your animals don't act well in public--Leave it home! Some humans just don't get it. I don't go out and this is just one more reason why. A lot of people are idiots and care nothing about others. Just themselves. Trump's idiotic behavior just lets stupid people out there think it's okay to act however they want. I will be so glad when he is gone, and things can get back to normal.

Even in Walmart, people brought dogs in with them even when it was obvious that they weren't seeing-eye dogs. If one of them growled or barked, an Assistant Manager would tell the person they had to take the dog outside for the safety of the other customers. If the person refused, they were often banned from being in Walmart themselves.
Walmart insurance wouldn't pay for a customer who was hurt by a dog in the store and Walmart could be sued if they allowed the dog to stay. Growling and barking are both signs of aggression and could be a prelude to an animal attack.
Personally, I'm allergic to all furbabies so don't own a dog. As a matter of fact, I'm scared of dogs after being attacked by one that the owner kept saying wouldn't hurt me. The dog tried to get me by the throat and I was lucky enough to grab one ear and twisted until the dog was lying on the ground, still growling at me until the owner snapped a leash on it and held the dog until I moved away from it.
