My pressure cooker.

Good morning, friends. I just finished a delicious lunch thanks to my pressure cooker. A couple of weeks ago I tried to cook some chickpeas for ages in a normal pot. It was an experiment because I always cook the legumes in my pressure cooker. Just imagine that the lentils cook in 3 minutes!!! Yesterday I first cooked a front pork leg and then, in the liquid, poured the chickpeas with a tiny bit more of water. I went to my room and told Alexa to remind me in 5 minutes. The garbanzos were tender and delicious in those minutes and today I mixed part of it all plus a bit of meat and a bit of rice and heated it in a normal small pot for my lunch. And what I did not tell you was that the old chickpeas boiled and boiled and ended up in Luna´s stomach. I´m very happy. What did you eat today?

Good evening. Pretty and I just ate pizza for late lunch today. I had sausage pizza and she had Canadian Bacon. I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast.

@DaddyEvil I used to like The Pizza Hut when I went to the US. But the pizzas here don´t taste the same. I don´t know if they taste the same there now.

Ionly like a pizza at a restaurant quite far from home. I don´t buy now those pizzas from restaurant chains.

@marguicha That's okay... We don't go far from home for anything. There are several local pizza places. One of them isn't a chain but Pretty doesn't like their pizza.

The pressure cooker is the best option for dry legumes.

Pressure cookers are wonders. I make casseroles in winter with meat that is tougher and it tastes better than more expensive meats.

@marguicha - I do the same, I make some stews using not expensive meats, but in the pressure cooker they are very tender.

@marguicha Well my hubby did, but I did not. I don't overdo it on carbs like he does.

Only 3 minutes? That dish sounds delicious. I love pork. I had my usual two eggs and toast. Not sure what we'll have for dinner.

If I am cooking dried beans or lentils, for me the big crockpot is my best option. The liquid doesn’t evaporate with the lid on, the contents don’t suffer if I am too busy to stir them, and when they are done they are always delicious. I am glad you enjoyed yours.

@MarieCoyle My pressure cooker is not so big. But it is a good brand. I have never made canned food. Claudia has been the only member of the house to can food and I soon discovered that it was very difficult to make.

@marguicha Crockpots have been a staple in many homes for years. They aren’t expensive, very reliable, and can make a tough piece of meat fork-tender. Mine gets used quite often. I have a pressure canner for canning jars of foods. But it’s huge and not made for cooking small meals.

My mother had a pressure cooker she really liked and made some great meals with it, I was creative I had frozen chicken fingers that I unthawed and marinated in Italian dressing and then fried up in my electric skillet with some tater tots, It was delicious,

I love garbanzo beans. I like any kind of bean or legume. Today I may have some chicken egg rolls that are in the freezer. It's 6 am; and I'm hungry now. Maybe I will have a PB&J sandwich.

I love legumes but can´t eat all kinds of beans. But garbanzos and lentils are fine. It seems that some beans are not good for my stomach.
