Meet Flash!

We ended up with another stray dog after the incident with the two beagles. I put this fellow up on community page as "found" with no location and he wasn't claimed.
He's very active and energetic and still a puppy. I estimate he is only around 6 months old.
He is getting along well with Duke, our German Shepard, but the cats are not thrilled about not being able to lounge where they choose in the sun. Flash thinks it is a game to chase them.
We picked the name Flash because he is so fast and also because of the white line on his head. I thought maybe the grandkids would bring him home when they picked up Grumpy kitten, but my daughter put her foot down. They were a little upset. They both loved him.
So it looks like we have a new pup! He's learning commands and so far is doing well settling in.

Thank you for taking him in, and trying to give him a good life, Karen.

@MarieCoyle You are welcome. It's our obligation actually. They can't take care of theirselves..they can, but not well. People that abandon pets like that need to be put in jail.

Once again, thank you. So many people see strays and animals in need and ignore them. Having been involved in rescue for many years, I always truly appreciate someone who takes in an unwanted pet.

@kareng Depending on what he is mixed with he might stay energetic. But he will learn the rules over time

@wolfgirl569 He is doing much better with the barking at night. NONE last night!! Now if we can get the jumping up and on us calmed down, we will be doing good. I know he is excited and the cause, so hopefully he will understand soon that we are not leaving and will be around.

Aww. How sweet. I'm glad you adopted Flash. That's a good name for him. Good luck; and I hope he learns to control his barking.

@LindaOHio I did. I have a long day yesterday and then drove on over to Monroe to babysit. I just wasn't ready for the 6 am with getting the little one to school. LOL. She is not an earlybird either. You have to drag her out of bed.

I am glad he has at least been found in a good home where he will gets lots of attention, love and care. I bet someone just decided they didn't want a dog and let him go. Sad when that happens, but he was a very lucky dog to be found by the right people.

@porwest YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
We have had 2 nights in a row now of no barking from the little guy. My husband said Flash was good again last night, but my dog Duke started barking and woke him up. We must have had a visitor from a wild critter in the yard. That is about all that riles Duke up. I'm at my daughter's babysitting if you are wondering why I didn't hear the other dog barking..lol.

@kareng — a friend of mine posted a Halloween decoration of a skeleton with animals around it, and a sign, “bodies of people who dumped their pets.” So truthful.

Yes, after 3 days we had decided we would keep him. I thought two of the grandkids were going to take him home. They fell in love with him, but my daughter said nope, not this time! They have two and another one that belongs to her brother in law that is always there, so she has enough right now to take care of.

I have a dog who we rescued as a puppy. I had cats too who gradually left home and went into the forest nearby.

@aninditasen Here, most cities have a shelter or more than one. My area is very rural. We don't have a shelter in my county and there is only one in the next county over. It's a shame really.

@kareng In my city most people feed dogs, cats and cows . We don't have much shelter homes here.
