Good morning, friends.
These last days I have been reading old letters I found in my closet. And then, Jim Bauer is answering old posts and in one of them I found a picture I had included of one of my husband´s best friends. He died last year and I was moved by a picture of him tending to a barbecue at my house.
After my husband died, 25 years ago, I thought that I would never see again his soccer pals. But Hugo called his best friends and they came for a barbecue at my house every spring.
Hugo brought the best meat and coal and the rest of them brought salads, wine and beer and a dessert.
I remember all of them, dead now, as they came with what was expected of them.
I remember that when Hugo invited to the first barbecue, Carlos (who has been the center forward of the team) brought a very strong Pisco sour. It was then that I learned that I had to make appetizers for those occations.
Our barbecues don´t have hamburgers but whole thick and juicy steaks. That picture made me wish that spring was here.
I have just finished reading a letter that Claudia sent to me when she was in the US with the AFS at 16 years of age.
I´m very happy.

I'm glad you're enjoying the old memories, pictures and letters you're reading.
I have several albums mom made from when we were little kids. Once in a while I look through those. I stuck different letters from when Pretty was little in one of the albums, too.

Children are funny. I wish sometimes that they did not grow up.

@marguicha Yes, they are... It would be bad if none of us grew up, though.

Oh, the memories. How nice that you found those letters. I'm glad to hear these make you happy. I am going to go through my closet this winter and will probably find some old keepsakes too. I look forward to it.

@marguicha .......It's interesting to see where our heads were at during different times of our lives. Fun to look back I think.

Sometimes a little walk down memory lane is extra special. People leave us and it always sad, of course. But it's those memories they leave with us that, even in the saddest of times, still offer at least the ability to smile a little bit while we remember.
