We returned today from our summer vacay.
We had a great time, alot of fun together. We had really wonderful weather for the most part. The day that we left we ran into some drizzly rain and it was windy. We could see the white caps out on the lake as we drove on our way there.
But on Wednesday it dawned bright and clear and the sun shone.
We had come up with some things to do indoors, as we really felt that it would be another rainy day. That did not happen. We were up and out on the boardwalk along the lake very early on that morning. We walked out the length of the dock beside the shipping lane. We spent alot of time watching the workers on a lake freighter prepare the ship for getting loaded before heading out into the harbour.
Their work commanded quite a crowd, which grew as we were all interested in seeing how this was done.
After that we found ourselves behind bars, but that is a story for another post.

It was great fun Anna.
I will post about my imprisonment later on.
You will get a little chuckle out of it.
It was one of the attractions that I found online before we went away.
I still feel so very happy having been so relaxed and in such a nice and quiet area.
In this city, there are so many different nationalities, and they are all trying to command attention to themselves in any way that they can find. The East Indians will resort to either buying a car with dual exhaust and having it changed so that they are loud, or they will have a similar system installed, so everyone, whether you want to or not, can hear them coming and going. Of course there is another group, who shall remain nameless, who show their aggression by 'dressing' as the women refer to it as, and the men are quick to move ahead of anyone in any crowd or line up. We saw none of that while away. It was a refreshing change.

@Juliaacv - I am so glad you had a great time. Some places are particularly interesting. When many different nationalities live together, there is always a sort of competition to try to show to the others "who you are".
I have to say that I dislike loud cars or motorcycles, that was a habit of some people in France.

Thank you.
It was quiet and pretty on this morning when we were out and about.
The day before it was windy and the water was churned up and muddy with white caps.
It is a very large and deep lake.
You can feel the cooling effects just being near it.

Sounds like you have a very nice time. I'm always glad to get home though, even after a wonderful vacay. I hope the 'behind bars' story is a fun one.

Excellent view, excellent vacation, I'm really glad that people can have time to enjoy, walk with family, share, create memories for a lifetime, I've always liked Beaches are memories that can never be forgotten because something always happens, they really deserved this time.

@Juliaacv Of course, I suppose it strengthened them as a family, and it also strengthened the bond we create with our loved ones when we share a trip. I repeat, I loved reading this.

Thanks, it was really windy and cool when we attempted to have our picnic.
We retreated to the car and ate there, it was still fun, and we have never been on the lake when it was that choppy. It made us realize that those that live on it must really see alot of things that those of us that only visit on nice sunny days do not.

Thanks, it was such a friendly, clean and quiet little town.
That helped with our relaxation.
I do not plan on coming out of this relaxation period any time soon, maybe on Saturday.
Tomorrow we have to go over to our son's place to check on it, as he is away too, but I might let hubby do that.

That area stretched for a couple of miles.
The local Rotary club has raised alot of money through fundraising to have rocks put down to help preserve the shoreline and rebuild the wooden boardwalk.
At one end of the shore is a harbour and there were 3 lake freighters there for us to see.
