Thinking about spending money.

Hello, mylotters. Today I have been washing dishes and pots all day. Anita did not come and the sink was loaded with soiled pots and pans. That is part of her work as my dishwasher is not working. I felt so rich a couple of weeks ago when I decided not to buy a new bed and fixed my old one. But now I´m thinking about spending that money in a dishwasher. Washing dishes destroys my back. And I would have to buy a good one. My dishwasher lasted ages and my daughters´ were good only a couple of years. Tomorrow Martín will take me to the drugstore and then we´ll go and eat out. I will cook some rice and then we´ll go to my Chinese restaurant and buy something to eat here I was going to go to a beauty shop nearby but Dixie told me that she´d take me to Eduardo, the beautician where I have been going lately. He is more expensive but does a great job. And I´ll see Dixie. I have just discovered that it is past midnight so good night, friends.

A dishwasher has become pretty much a necessity in our house. We still hand wash many things. But at least the dishwasher can handle the bulk of most everything else.

My husband bought a dishwasher after I had back surgery. But a piece broke and you can´t get it anywhere now.

@porwest In my country dishwashers are still expensive. They cost more than twice the cost of a washing machine.

@marguicha The nice thing is that dishwashers are relatively cheap nowadays, and even the less expensive ones work just fine.

Buy a dishwasher, your back is more important than the money you can save washing your dishes manually.

I know. I had back surgery a couple of decades ago and although it was a good procedure, I started with osteporosis in that place very soon.

@LadyDuck I know. And many times even meds you take to get well from an ailment means having to accept a side effect.

@marguicha - All surgeries leave side effects and where there is a scar it's painful every time the weather is bad.

I'm glad you were able to get the pots and pans washed today. I always wash things as soon as I use them to keep the workload to a manageable size. It will kill my back if I let dishes wait before going in and washing them. Pretty never helps doing dishes... She claims that is my job... I've noticed she doesn't have any housework jobs anymore. She expects me to do everything. I hope you and Martin have a wonderful meal when he takes you shopping. And I'm sure Dixie misses seeing you, too. I hope you have a wonderful sleep tonight.

Finally things changed. Dixie will take me to the beautician. And tomorrow we will lunch out with Martín as he had to work today.

I would think a dishwasher would help you tremendously. I hope you can get one soon. It will be nice for you to have Chinese with Martin, and to get to see Dixie. Have a good sleep, Marga.

Martín finally could not have lunch out with me. But we´ll go tomorrow. I´m thinking about the dishwasher. I´ll see if I can get someone to go with me to see them.

@marguicha I do hope you can get one. Is your current dishwasher that doesn't work right one that is installed or is it a portable one? If you get a portable one, you can take it with you when you move.

I salute you for being able to do that at our age. Even I can't stand to wash dishes that long. Enjoy your Chinese food and have fun with your beautician. Good day!

If your back is so bad when you're standing at the sink, you certainly need a dishwasher. Have a nice time with Dixie.

What you are doing is financial economy, spending on what you really need and helping yourself do things for yourself that you don't need to spend more on, however I do believe that your health It's worth spending money on that dishwasher, it's more than just a pleasure, it's a necessity, and if it helps you, I don't see why not, then it becomes an investment for you, you deserve it.
