A Pain In The Neck

Literally... for the past few days I've had this pain in my neck which goes down my arm. I don't know if I slept wrong, if it's my stupid uncomfortable pillow, too much crocheting or my recliner. Whatever it is, it's really messing with everything I want to do.
I'm assuming it's either a pinched nerve or an overused muscle.
It's also interfering with my chatting time here.

Hope it isn't signs of a stroke or heart attack. Take it easy and if it gets worse, call your doctor.

@BarBaraPrz possibly? I'm pretty sure it's from overuse as I was doing so much crocheting to get a project done.

I'm sure it's not a stroke or heart attack. I feel fine except for the pain that seems to come when I move in a certain way or move my arm in a position

I'm sure itvwill be fine but I'm right handed and it's my right arm so I'm limited to certain things that I can do.

Ouch! I get some neck pains sometimes from sleeping on two pillows. I have felt better though since I started doing some stretching each day. Not a lot. Don't want to get crazy or anything.
Hope your neck gets better real soon.

@Marilynda1225 ........Could very well be. Even pillows are so darned expensive nowadays.

I kind of think my pain is from my pillow. I need a new one but can't find one that is comfortable.

I'm sorry you're having a problem. What pain meds or muscle relaxants have you tried so far? If you come over, I'll give you a really gentle neck massage along with heated towels and see if we could work the kink out for you. I hope you feel better soon.

@Marilynda1225 I never could handle alternating heat and cold. I jump when the cold reached my skin and that defeats the purpose.
I really hope you're feeling better already.

@DaddyEvil I'm not fond of the cold either so I'm not really diligent on that but the heat makes it feel better. Yes I'm feeling better so it's probably an overused muscle thing.
Hope you and Pretty are having a good weekend

I've only tried Tylenol and no muscle relaxers. Alternate ice and heat.
Awww getting a gentle neck massage is so tempting that I'm feeling relaxed just thinking about it. It's so sweet of you to offer and I do wish I was closer and could take you up on your offer.
I'm sure I'll feel better in a few days if I rest it.

I'm so sorry you are hurting. My shoulder pain has moved up into my neck; BUT I think it's getting better. I hope you start feeling better soon. Maybe you should get a new pillow???

@Marilynda1225 The problem is I have to use both arms to get out of my chair...and every time I do that I get a sharp pain. It's hard for it to heal when you have to keep using it.

Right side and it just feels like I overused my arm with a repetitive motion of crocheting for long periods of time. I was working on a project that I needed to get done and probably just flared up my muscle. If it persists then I'll definitely have to call my doctor.

That sounds uncomfortable. I hope you can find out the cause. I hate any kind of unexplained problems like that.

If it doesn't get better in a few days with rest and OTC meds I'll have to see about physio therapy

I think it's from crocheting as I was doing it for hours and hours trying to get a project done. I'm sure it will be fine in a few days and I won't crochet anything and it will probably go away.
