Good Afternoon Mylot, I have been struggling with something for about five months, I just need some advice or opinions of what you might do. First this is not my home, I lived in California most of my life, now I am in the country. Well, I thought this woman was my friend, and come to find out she was betraying all the time. I told her what she did and hasn't fooled with her since. Neither have I gone back to church, do you think you would go back to church after all that, we don't have anymore churches in our community, I want to go, but I'm at a fork in the road. Do you think you would go back The friendship we had is over, she got hung by her tongue. Thank Mylot for all responses.

I agree with Amber. I'd hate to give up a church I liked.

Do not let someone's meanness take away something that you enjoy and is a blessing.

Sorry, I don't have an opinion on this... I haven't been in a church since I moved out of mom's house at 18 years old and don't intend to ever go back.
I hope you figure things out to suit you. Good luck!

If you liked the church then don't let her run you off. Just ignore her.

She texted me in June, saying we need to talk, but once you find out a person is not your friend, time to let go.

If I could I would go back and I would totally ignore her. Sometimes I have an urge to visit a Lutheran church but they are far from me, So I do all my praying at home,

Churches are nothing more than fakers, charlatans, and faith-seeking money grabbers. If you want to worship God, the best place to do it is from your heart, through your actions, and by how you live your life under His guidance. The devil resides in the chapels. Trust me on this. In the end you will not be judged by whether or not you attended sermons. You will be judged by what you DID under the Lord.

@popciclecold Faith has a way of making people blind to a lot of realities. It is what it is. When one has strong enough faith, anyone can take full advantage of that and do.
Whenever you think a Christian is on your side, run. lol

Wow, that’s a tough one. I don’t know how it is there, but in the south, especially among the “evangelical” churches, the sharpest tongues that wag the most and spew the most venom are found in the churches. Especially the small churches. If it’s a larger church with more than one service where you could avoid the problem person, it’d be great. However, remember that the church isn’t a building (or even a congregation), and sometimes you need to forgive and move on.

Yeah, forgiveness is important, but you are right about smaller churches

@popciclecold — a lot of people use “prayer requests” as a gossip line…”y’all pray for Bernice, she’s going through a divorce.”

I take it that you were a victim of this person's blabbering.
I hope that you can keep that incident in mind should she try to rekindle any friendship, you do not need that.
Words, even though they are not truths, can hurt so much.
If you originally liked going to the church and you feel like you are ready to return, I would give it a try.

@popciclecold You keep telling yourself the true reason you are there, and maybe that will help.

@popciclecold I see. Then you have to stay away from the church. Pray at home.

If you like the church, give it a shot. Just ignore each other.

I haven't been to my church since I move in my uncle's house. It was because of distance not because of people. I used to watch online, but haven't in a long time. If your church has an online service, maybe you can watch it. If not, you could go back and you don't have to talk to her.

If going to church is important to you then I say you must of course go back. You do not need to have contact with this woman. If she is there just smile or say hello . But that’s it.
If this lady is someone who works for the church then that’s different, but if she us just a member who attends, please don’t let her stop you from going.
