Thursday and nothings new

Happy Thursday Everyone! my 8am alarm clock was right on time this morning. I'm referring to the lawn crew and the sound of their mowers going past my bedroom window. Pretty soon they'll be finished for the season. I noticed that they have already started on the Fall cleanup, trimming bushes etc. With the sound of the mowers going past my window how in the world did I think today was Friday? There isn't much happening here. My arm/shoulder is still giving me a bit of a problem but it's much better than it was. Resting has helped so my time on the laptop and phone has been limited. I've been trying to pop in here during the day but it's been sporadic. We're having Chicken Cacciatore for dinner so I have to cut up the chicken, onion and peppers and put it all in the crockpot with tomato sauce. It will be another day of smelling all the goodness as well as an easy dinner. I got the idea to make it from my older daughter when I asked what she made for dinner the other night and she said chicken cacciatore. Sometime different since we haven't had it in quite awhile. Sometimes I get so caught up in making the same things I forget about different ways to cook "good old chicken". I will enjoy my coffee while I check out what's going on here today. Hope you have a wonderful day

Oh, chicken cacciatore sounds good! I hope you all enjoy it! I've laid down hamburger to thaw. I should look through my cookbook and think about making it some other way than with pasta. Have a great day!

Hamburger is one thing you can make a million different ways. Hope you decide on something different than with pasta even though with pasta is always good.

@Marilynda1225 I love hamburger with pasta but Pretty is tired of it. I might make hamburgers this evening. We only have those once in a while.

It's a long time that I do not make chicken cacciatore ("alla cacciatora" in Italian), it's coming the right season for those warmer meals.

@Marilynda1225 - I was watching a YouTube video yesterday afternoon, a cook in Florence showing how he makes lasagna. My husband had a look and said "yours look a lot better and it's too long you do not make this disk". Well, message received.

Yes, it's really more of a cold weather meal but it hit the spot today. Just something different from the run of the mill meals we've been eating all summer.

Thanks, and I hope cutting up all that chicken and veggies won't aggravate your shoulder.Mt shoulder was hurting one day too, plus the muscle in my right arm. I think it was from over stretching. It's better today though.

that's exactly what's hurting me...my right shoulder and the muscle in my arm. I know mine is from overuse . Glad your arm is feeling better. The chicken is already cut up and I don't think the peppers or onions will be that hard to cut up. If it is, my daughter can do it when she gets her lunch break.

You have been a week or more with that shoulder bothering you. Have you tried anything, ice, heat or a rub? Oh, why do we have to feel like we are wearing out as we age. Tonight is pizza night here, enjoy the chicken cacciatore.

Yes I've been doing ice, heat and Biofreeze. Its much better since I've been resting it but I do miss crocheting . Right now I can't do all that repetitive movements

Your meal will be delicious. Chicken is a great standby really as there are so many things you can do with it.

Yes it's very versatile so if I'm not being lazy we can eat it multiple times a week without actually eating the same thing over and over.

Same here with the lawn crew. One across the street was doing some pruning and so it was loud and seemed to go on forever. I'm glad to hear that your shoulder is doing better. Mine took quite a while to heal but they do in time. Chicken is so versatile. Nice to have it on hand for casseroles this time of year. I was watching a content creator making several different recipes/casseroles with chicken and cornbread. Look good. And then she did a couple of breakfast ones with hashbrowns.

My shoulder is feeling better but I think it's going to take awhile for it to be back to normal. Those recipes you mentioned sound good and interesting especially the breakfast ones with hash browns
