How much does your insurance cover?

I know a lot of countries have universal healthcare, but I assume they pay something for prescriptions. My insurance pays for six (have an copay though). And a lot of times they won’t pay for certain ones no matter what. So I have 14 prescriptions, and while I’m thankful for six being covered, I still have to find a way to pay the total for eight more. Goodrx has been very helpful, but even they don’t get the prices down totally.
I marvel at what my sister and brother-in-law’s health insurance pay for. It’s amazing. I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about them.
So how much does of your prescriptions do you get covered? You know, I have such a huge family on my dad’s side (250), I guess I should thank them, and only them, for helping to pay those six.

For the most part, mine are covered. I have one they want me to take that isn't and the price is nuts...so I told the doc a big no. Even with GoodRX it's crazy. He prescribed another one but grumbled about it not working as well, but hey...he doesn't have to figure out how to come up with the astronomical amount to pay for it. Son's meds are mostly covered, but the two that aren't are a huge problem...so I totally understand the worry. I'm sorry, Amber.

@AmbiePam I switched to a state plan vs what I had before and am saving almost $2000 per year but I still pay over $500 per month. We have to pay a % of the premium based on our salary so now that I'm at the top I'm paying the highest %. In the grand scheme of things--compared to what others have to pay--it isn't horrible but when I was hired we didn't have to contribute ANYTHING to medical. Then Chris Christie came along. . .

Our prescriptions are not covered by our healthcare.
But, our employers have to offer you medical coverage that they pay for.
My prescriptions cost a few dollars, not sure what the percentage of the full price is, one of my prescriptions is $80 for a month for my share-I have to talk to my dr about that one. It is too costly.
We can get a yearly print out from the pharmacy that we can submit for our income taxes, and depending on your tax bracket you will get that back.

I have Medicaid and it pays for most prescriptions... There were three they wouldn't pay for at all, no matter what brand or type my doctor tried to switch me to so we gave up on them. (I know one was $1,400 a month so don't blame them for not paying for it. But another one was $5 that they refused to pay for. We can pay for it ourselves now.)
When I was on Walmart Health Coverage, I had a $4 per prescription co-pay so that was okay. It sucked when I left Walmart until Missouri finally allowed people here to get Medicaid. I couldn't afford any of my meds for six months or so...

@AmbiePam I was just glad the insurance paid for the epi-pens... While that one dude was in charge of the company that made them, he priced them at $800 for two of them. I applied to the company and they gave me a $200 discount on them and the Walmart insurance would let me use the coupon or they'd pay $200 of the price but not both.
I had to go to the ER twice during that time so Walmart insurance got to pay the ER instead.

Non of our prescriptions are free, but the insurance we have makes them very reasonable.

All my prescriptions are covered by insurance. I also have dental and eye coverage. I'm sorry some of your prescriptions are not covered.

My health insurance is excellent. Small co-pays for office visits and prescriptions
