Yesterday was rough for me. Sorry for my absence. I’ll catch up today. This month I’m honoring the slower songs that you can sway or slow dance to. This was inspired by @rebelann who is tired of my mosh pit boogie tunes.
(Next month will be all mosh pit boogie tunes, to give her the rocking out she’s not getting this month!) Here’s today’s song.
My Girl - The Temptations
Smokey Robinson wrote this. David Ruffin provided the lead vocals. Case closed.
Smokey wrote this for his wife (and, with a love song like this, you know they later divorced
) This is a simply WOW song in every regard: perfect 60s, perfect Motown, perfect love song.
We all need “sunshine on a cloudy day,” and songs like this provide it.
My Girl
Written by Smokey Robinson and Ronald White
Recorded by The Temptations
From The Temptations Sing Smokey, 1965

This is one of the few songs that I'd say "most" people love.

Have to remember what John Prine once sang: "Blow up your TV, throw away your papers."
Glad you enjoyed this one!

You're absolutely right. One of the best-sung tunes of the 60s.

Can’t argue with that in the least! One of the great classic songs, period!
