More on My Daughter's Collapse

My daughter saw her doctor yesterday and was prescribed a different medication. It was supposed to be filled that same night. She went to get it today and was told they didn't have it in stock. They checked with 3 other drug stores, and they didn't have it either. So, she has to wait and try again.
This is maddening when my daughter needs to get started on another med. She collapsed two days ago. We are making her go to bad at a certain hour. Actually, come up stairs and go to bed. I found her on her bed asleep today and need to continue to find her there when I get up for my early morning trip to the little girl's room. My grandson fell asleep last night, and he usually makes sure she is okay before he goes to bed. But we were all tired yesterday, so it didn't get done.
She has a great doctor. Not actually a doctor but a nurse practitioner. She has been with us for several years and understands the issues. I am thankful she is as kind and good as she is.
We will try to do better in the future. Bi-polar disorder is a bad one and my daughter was diagnosed when she was a teen. She is 53 now. We did learn that it gets more pronounced as people age. Isn't that great? We just need to be more aware of each other and what's going on.

I'll pray for her. I hope she gets better and have a full recovery, what's her name or nickname?

That's a tough call for you all. I hope the new medication becomes available soon and that it makes an improvement.

That sounds so stressful. I hope the pharmacy is able to get her medication in stock quickly, especially after what she’s been through. It’s good that she has such a supportive nurse practitioner and a caring family around her. Bipolar disorder really does take constant awareness, and it’s clear you’re doing your best for her. Sending strength to you and your daughter.

Have you asked if the doctor’s office has “free samples” of the medication until it can be filled?
Hope she’s feeling better.
