We paid a fifth of what we expected

I’m sure you don’t want a photo of the motor-home or a tyre so you’ve got more photos from the rocks we visited.
We have a motor-home. It has dual wheels at the back and we haven’t been able to get to the valve of one of the inside wheels to check the pressure. The nuts on the wheel had been done up with a ‘rattle-gun’ and we couldn’t budge them to get the outside tyre off. So we ended up taking it to a nearby tyre place. It was a Saturday morning and they were closing at midday.
The wheel-base is too long for the vehicle to fit on their hoist but they were very obliging and more than happy to help. As it turned out, they loosened all the nuts on all the wheels and tensioned them to the proper torque (whatever that means but it means we’ll be able to get the tyres off ourselves). They pumped all the tyres up to the proper pressure, including the spare, made sure Vince knew how to get the spare out of its storage place, and added an extension to the valve so we’d be able to check it next time.
We waited in the office area with comfy chairs and magazines. It had taken probably an hour and a half but we were really happy to have it all done and dusted. When Vince went to pay, we were charged only for the extension - $20 if you please. How kind is that? They’ve been in business since 1997 so something is working for them. We’ll certainly go back there next time.

I agree, that was very nice of them to do all that work and only charge you for the extension.
It's getting more and more rare to find people/businesses that extend that much courtesy/generosity to customers.

@JudyEv That is a garage I'd use again if I needed work done later.

@JudyEv Age takes a toll on all of us Looking back what I could do then and now there is a paradigm shift on how I handle them if I can. And may I have given up.

They fixed some problems with the tyres that we weren't able to do ourselves. We hate paying for things we should be able to do but more and more some jobs are beyond our strength and flexibility.

We were just pleased to get the work done without busting ourselves trying to do it without help. We would happily have made. We had a small job done a while ago at another tyre place and they didn't take anything - said it was a small job and they weren't busy so no charge. It's a bit unusual in this day and age.

Boy that's really inexpensive. Other places would have charged much more.

That's one good way for a business to build their business up. Treat people right and they will return. Good for them, and glad you got such a bargain!

@MarieCoyle They're entitled to make a profit or they couldn't survive so we were very surprised to be charged nothing for their time.

Sometimes, I think we are shocked when we get treated like this--it's truly something to remember and does a lot of good for their business and their ratings, too.

There are not a lot of places like that left here. We have one local garage that is reliable and tries to keep the costs fair. They do a good job, too.

Now we know you are safe on the road and can be proactive about doing as much as possible yourself. What a great price.

It was very kind of them. We'll be spreading the word and hoping we can push some business their way.

That is wonderful! Sometimes tire places don't charge much for patching or some kind if maintenance thing, but you got a deal.

If they are in the business that long, then maybe they have a good founder. Hope many will do business like them, especially those telco owners.
Anyway the photos are so amazing, it's so beautiful.
