What is the most vile thing you’ve ever tasted?

Up until this point, I don’t think I’ve tasted a lot of things that could be called vile (maybe medicine). Then, I got this tea (pictured) to review. I can best describe it as tasting like medicine with cleaning toxins included. Someone needs to be charged with assault for creating it, and the rest of the 12 pack went in the trash. What, in your life, has tasted that bad? *Couldn’t post picture.

OKRA! It is NOT food no matter how many times mom made me "try it, you might like it this time".

I like it, but I kind of think it is an acquired taste. It's best when sliced into small pieces in my opinion.

@AmbiePam And won't go near it now, even when friends say they can make it a way that I'll love it. No thanks!

Definitely oysters. Who was ever hungry enough to open a shell and say, “Hey, look at this stuff that looks like snot, bet it’s good to eat”? Just the thought of it makes me SOOOO happy to be allergic to seafood. I’ve heard durian is atrocious, and even the smell of it is horrid. If Andrew Zimmern won’t eat it on Bizarre Foods, then I’m not getting anywhere near it!!

That’s true, if that guy won’t try it, I doubt I could either.

I have a vegan friend who enjoys durian. Once she gets past the smell, she finds it delciious.

I have several Filipino friends who love durian... I've looked for it in the US but haven't been able to find it... I'd like to try it if I could afford it.

Other than anything liver which I hate, it might be this soup I once got to review as well. I am not kidding it tasted like ashes. I could not imagine anyone thinking it was palatable. I wrote back and said, please don't ever try to sell this to the public.

@AmbiePam Not really. I was tricked into trying it. Dale had been to a wildlife dinner and brought it home for me to try. He said it was pheasant! Nasty is what it was.

@AmbiePam Lychee are fruit that don't have much flavor. I think they're okay-ish. I've eaten them a couple of times. Our Walmart offers them once in a while. (They're supposed to be sweet but I've never found them to be sweet.)

@AmbiePam I would not try it, not a fan of lychee that I have had at Asian restaurants. (canned, not fresh. flavorless)

Mucinex; it was a blue liquid. I had to take it about 10 years ago for a lingering cough, and I still consider it to be one of the worst things I've ever tasted.

I am not that picky of an eater. I do not like anything that is slimy, or fixed in some way to be slimy. Raw oysters is a big no from me. I will not eat sushi ( my sister got bad food poisoning from sushi once) and I have a problem with some liquids--if they seem sickening or the consistency is somewhat weird, they just don't stay down. Nyquil, Mucinex, Pepto-Bismol...a big, huge nope from me. If I manage to swallow them, they come right back up so it isn't worth the effort.

The first time I tried Nyquil, the orignal one I almost threw up. I have had it since then, it is edible..and the cherry flavored one is not that bad.

@AmbiePam Nasty stuff! I do not want any, ever. I asked my son what was the most vile thing he ever tasted. His vote is for the colonoscopy prep stuff. He is like his mother, if he manages to swallow it, it comes back up. You would think with all of the inventions they have, they could make it taste better.

Hm...well, no offense to vegetarians, but we have a pot luck every Wednesday night at church, and this vegetarian lady brought this dish...(I don't even remember what was in it) that hardly anyone touched. For whatever reason she insisted I take what was left (most of it) home with me. So I could say I tried it, I did--and I had to choke it down--maybe twice, but it was nasty. The rest went in the trash.
